If you are more of a quite and shy person, then spamming will start to feel weird after awhile. Or if you are loud and social then there are also several people, and cows, who will probably like you more if you post a lot(I'm just guessing, I have no idea what cows like, besides grass).
Just find your niche, do what feels right to you, and don't worry about trying to make everybody like you.
I'm not sure, but I feel you are talking about me somehow
it's a good guide, but I don't agree with the "stay quiet" idea... I wasn't known here until I started posting everywhere and got my "spam post count" higher (I'm NOT saying spam/off-topicness should be abused) making some off topic post (in the proper thread aka URT) makes other Dfans get to know you better....
Just look at hungry hippo... her started posting everywhere and got a nice rep right away... then he left because he was posting only spam wich is good, sort of....
anyway... maybe it's just me, but I think that being a bit loud could get you far, unless you abuse and turn yourself into a spambot
I think the respect thing should go first... imo is the most important thing, and the spelling, is good.. personally I don't mind some minor mistakes, and there aren't many grammar nazzis around here (thank god), but when posts turn unreadable (specially for people that don't have english as main language) then misunderstandings start to rise...
and I'm going to stop now as this post is getting too long
