Background: Richard Knox was a born and raised American man. Raised in Chicago, he thought his first calling in life was the military, as his father was in the Navy. After two years, he decided to change career paths and went to Stanford to get his degree in Nuclear Engineering. There, he met his wife Stacy and they decided to move to San Francisco after he got a job offer there for the company called Insta-Tech, a promised firm that was partnered with James Hartford in creating his machine, loaning money, parts, and men to aid him build it.
At the time of disaster, Richard Knox was in Japan in the testing labs the Insta-Tech branch in Nanbu, Japan. His wife, Stacy, went to see the glory machine created by Hartford. Using the new phone technologies of the time, Richard was watching the event live with his wife. As the machine exploded, Richard saw his wife get vaporized before his eyes before the machine destroyed the phone.
Secured in the underground testing labs, Richard Knox was safe from the blast and faced none of the effects. Yet he quickly abandoned his area in Japan to flee for America, trying to find his kids and the rest of his family... if they are still alive...
Reason for joining: On his way to America, he heard of a group who have banded together that appeared to have things going. He quickly decided to join them as he headed West trying to find his family.
Equipment: Richard normally wears a brown jacket and jeans. As he patrols the wasteland, he will wear a bulletproof vest underneath his jacket along with a EPPP (Or E-Tri-P or prounced etripe), a energy powered pulse pistol. He also carries a grappling hook, a compass, and a pack of cigarettes in case of stress.
