I find really funny how people just troll diablo and tl possibilities for cvonsoles w/o thinking in ADAPTATIONS. Here are some suggestions:
1) your character does not need the cursor to move. He will move like in any other third view game. Wich is good cause you already have a fixed camera.
2) The PS3 controller have enough buttoms thnx. You can easilly bind all your 8+ commands, wich is enough in this kind of game.
3) Melee attacks, character centered skills like novas and shouts, buffs and summons would not need any cursor. You tap the binded buttom, they happen, like in any other console game. Very efficient !
4) Attacks that really requires aiming (ranged aoe, bolt-like ranged attacks) would have a special cursor. This cursor would be screen centered, controlled by the right analog and quickly travel across the screen. He would aim this kind of skills for you. He would also be used to pick up loot in the screen.
Advantage over key board + mouse system:
1) You can move and attack at the same time. Much more freedom.
2) The gameplay differences between melee and ranged are much deeper in this system.
3) Off-line coop is possible w/o multiple machines, just multiple controllers. EPIC.
Disvantage:
1) PC fan boys will whine hard. Bleh.
2) You can only have 4 ranged "cursor needed" skill cause those would be played at the right and left triggers. More the that would requires you to move one of your fingers out of the analog, wich is sign of terrible gameplay. Maybe add the option to bind a skill on taping two triggers simultaneously could solve this problem.
3) PC fan boys will whine hard. Bleh.
So,TL will be a much cooler game on PS3/360's controler, believe me. Maybe when Jay Wilsom play TL on his Xbox he will realise that and beg Blizz SE to invest on an D3 console version ;D
Now you guys can flame me hard !

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth
