Well the reason for replacing a fan which isnt correctly is because it isn't working correctly. It's broken. So if you just built a brand new pc which costs a few thousand bucks why would you trust an old broken fan to keep it running? Plain and simple, you wouldn't. It is illogical, as is choosing not to fix a broken system in an old game when making the new one which will be different anyway.
Also belittling someone for having a different opinion than you is childish beyond belief. And the simple fact that you actually engage in grieving people in any game further proves my above point.
And I did respond to your point as to backstabbing in SC. And I did respond to your point as to carebearing and such, I don't believe the D3 team is doing such acts.
As I wasn't trying to start an argument when I first posted I will now stop posting, because just as Umpa stated, there is no point.
And no I'm not a "follower of Umpa" I am merely intelligent enough to respect his position and decision not to argue, just as I was respectful in saying that you have a right to voice your concerns.

Sorry but I don't see how that's a logical metaphor. Because as we all know replacing a broken fan with a new one is an improvement, however removing your leg for any reason (other than to save your life from infection) is not an improvement.

Well since you cannot just pop a tp anytime anywhere and be safe when you go into your inventory to change said weapons and gear (think MF) the game will be more challenging. Just because a system works doesn't mean it isn't broken. If you were building a new pc and you had a fan which ran at 40% efficiency would you still use that fan in your new pc? (assume that although broken the fan would still allow your pc to run without incurring dmg). I wouldn't, and that's exactly what the people at blizzard are doing.
Plus they have to balance the game, which is going to be different than D2. I mean wasn't D2 vastly different than D1? And anyone expecting D3 to be an upgraded version of D2 is fooling themselves. Besides who would buy that? Different story/better graphics? Who cares about that, Diablo (the game) has never been about that stuff anyway.
As far as feel goes, I don't think D2 has even 1% of the feel that D1 had, and it's still a great game.

Blizz hasn't said anything about the pvp system yet, so I don't see how they are making it noobish. If anything I would be willing to bet that pvp in D3 will be better than ever since they are finally putting some effort into it. And as far as weapon swap goes, that was a constantly abused systems of which all of us are guilty. Sure you may say if everyone can do it than it's not a problem but that doesn't change the fact that it's a broken system. It doesn't work as intended. Furthermore the removal of weapon swap will actually make the game more challenging, which I for one believe is a good thing.

first off, Hello. I've checked these forums nearly everyday for 3 years. I don't know why I finally decided to post but here goes.
1) I hope backstabbing remains an element of SC2. I don't play a lot of SC, and I'm not that great of an RTS player, but removal of this element would greatly reduce the fun of playing, especially in a Lan setting among friends.
2) Enough with the rainbows and unicorns crap. It was a joke, blizzard often does such things. And besides it was damn funny, I mean come on, all people were doing after seeing less than 10mins of gameplay was bitching about this and that and how "soft" it was...
3) As far as "dumbing the game down" goes... First off, the game isn't even close to half completed. If you had seen all the pre-release notes and production and trial and error that went into D2 you very likely would have said the EXACT same thing. After all look how much more user... err I mean noob friendly D2 was compared to D1.
4) Everytime I see someone complain about auto-stats or respec or many of the other "noob" additions to D3 I sigh and laugh. This being because while many people don't like these changes, many of us do. And I'm talking about the good players of D2. All to often people whom frequently post on a fan-site or forum think that they must be the only hardcore players of D2. But there's a lot more of us out there than that, maybe we don't play anymore but I mean come on it's been 5+ years since the game was big.
5) Whether you liked one particular feature of D2 is irrelevant when developers are designing a new and different game. Also many of the things we all got used to or maybe even liked were in fact broken systems. They did not function as intended and whether or not it added an element of difficulty is also irrelevant.
Now I'm not flaming you, I do respect your opinion and I think it's important that Blizzard gets feedback from all D2 players, especially the better ones. I'm just pointing out some of the reasons as to why I've chosen to put my faith in Blizzard. Besides after all faith is all we really have, they don't have to listen to us, and we will most likely buy and play D3 relentlessly.
