I've always been a bit of a defensive player. I wish I had the guts to be more offensive but it's never been my playing style. This is true with most games that I play.
Most the time when playing against the computer, if you can survive the first couple of onslaughts then you're usually gonna be okay. From then on, the computer's attacks aren't as full fledged. It's like after that they're taking potshots for the rest of the game.
Making custom maps for Starcraft 2 looks like it's going to be way harder than Starcraft and Warcraft 3 even. There's so many levels of terrain. And with units that can traverse those levels, I'll have to take that into consideration as well.
I've always thought that was silly, too. You'd think with a battlecruiser sitting over your base, you'd be able to see farther than 20 feet around your base lol
It's funny though cause we'd still probably prefer the fog of war, albeit it's pretty unrealistic.
It's the one and only cheat I'll use. It makes little sense to me in the universe of Starcraft that any given race wouldn't be able to observe the battle from something akin to a satellite and relay enemy positions to the main base.
Three of us against two computer opponents though is challenging enough. My buddy and I who occassionally get on battle.net, we just take on a single computer player.
But I'm seriously ready to go when you guys are. I'm on Mountain Time, so just about any time in the evening would be good for me. As long as it's not too late, like, past 1 a.m.
I must insist that we give my map a few tries as well. I've worked on it for a long time to make it play well with at least four players.
Sometimes if you're not comfortable starting from scratch, it's best just to load an existing map and tweaking it. That's what I do with Warcraft 3 maps. Cause I think there's too many options to mess with and I just don't know what to do with all of it before getting a headache. So I'll just load others and add tree walls, creeps, extra gold mines, and stuff like that.
It's a free download. I recommend it. Then whenever you have a free night, just PM me and I might be able to play a game with you. We should even try to get a third person in on this. It would be way fun.
We can both fight against a single computer opponent. And do you have a microphone for your computer? I've found it's much nicer to coordinate efforts with teammates over MSN Live as opposed to having type everything.

Before that I was playing a lot of Warcraft 3. Now I'm hardly touching that.
Or say, every blue moon I'll pick up Doom 3 and play that all the way through. I can never tell when I might get into an old favorite.
