So I get cata world change and quests without buying cata? Damn. Dunno what's the point of Cata exp then.
Leaning towards getting the deals right now (classic, tbc, wotlk) and waiting for later to buy cata then.
you get the old world changes without Cata but you don't get:
- 2 additional races (Worgen/Goblin)
- one new profession (Archaeology) that's pretty awesome, especially if you like to learn new stuff about lore
- new leveling zones for 78-85 (even though you can get up to 80 in the Wrath of the Lich King)
- guild progression features that will be a pretty big deal
- leveling the professions to the max (meaning that you wont make as much gold as you would)
- flying in the old world (very very big deal)
i suggest you buy the 20$ set for WoW and the first couple expansions and get Cataclysm as soon as you can for the new features. If you like Worgen/Goblins more than the ones availiable prior to Cataclysm you could always wait but i don't suggest it. Every launch that has new races/classes (death knight for example) have their starting zones very very crowded and it kinda ruins the feeling of the game. All starting areas have awesome quest chains and the flow of the game is almost flawless (leveled a gnome priest from level 1 to 54 in 3 days and i'm almost 55 now too :P).
You know... I never had to pay for my burning crusade... Hell i probably wouldn't have to pay for Wotlk either... just get their "free trial" for the expansions... use that as your media and just pay for your account.
free trial is only for 14 days and you can't have the full game (or use the characters you created in the trial) unless you attach a cd-key (digital buy or package, same result).
