Elfen Lied for blizzard president, yay! Dude you know more than the guys who wrote diablo!
I thank you for your comment, but in truth, nothing I have said is really new, almost all of what I have said can be found in the game or in the manual. I am a little rusty when it comes to the novels (which are more lore than the game is, now) as I haven't yet finished the Sin War Trilogy.
The information is all there, it's a shame more people don't take the time to read it.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
You do know that Belial and Azmodan (and by extension their armies) only fight each other when not fighting Heaven right?

If you are correctly an earlier post (possibly of mine) it would be wise to quote it. Otherwise your post carrys little meaning, esp. in a thread discussing whether or not a sequel is possible, as Sankekur's body is dead. You killed it. His mind went ages ago when Mephisto took over it.

Funny that Elfen Lied is his name but his Avatar is Alucard's Vlad from Hellsing.
Being that your join date is May 2008, you might be forgiven for such. I have undergone several avatar changes. I did for a very short time after I registered have an avatar with Lucy in it. The pic can still be view by going to my User Profile.
Gotta be wide open, everyone loves a sequel.

Its a custom title, i have one because of my Moderator status.
please stop asking these questions in these sorts of threads (i.e Diablo series discussion threads), PMs are there for a reason. as to are Instant Messengers.
oh and before you ask, no custom ranks are not enabled for everyone and no im not the only one with a custom title, SIlversurfnstud has one too, but like me he is a Mod, thus currently only mods have custom user titles, you could say they show the fact that we are mods.

Der Engel Des Todes, is german for The Angel of Death, whereas my User name Elfen Lied, is german for Elf Song.
please dont ask questions like that in a thread such as this, best to save those questions for PMs/spam section.
back on topic (for a little while anyway)
there is definitely somethings that should at least be considered/looked at when thinking is theend of LOD really all that close ended, but then again, id love to have a gmae set during the Sin War/prior to D1, hell almost anew new game set in the diablo universe would do, so long as it wasnt a pay 2 play MMO, then i might just resist buying it straight away, id still get it, but id have an instant dislike of the fees.

Anyways i voted left wide open cuz for the fact that it is. I dont need to say ne thing more just look at Elfen's posts and you'll know all you'll need to know.
thanks, years of research into it, and im not the only one that thinks like that. plus im sure there is somethings ive missed/over looked
again i say to all of you faithful diablo series fans out there, in the movies and final speaches by NPCs in harrogath, it says the destruction of the worldstone will allow demons to more readily enter the world of sanctuary, and this is a problem, well for the people of sanctuary, it is a good thing for us, coz it means more games, more games being Diablo 3, and its possible expansion, then based on how that game or games end will dictate as to the existance of Diablo 4 and whether or not it will be a sequel or a prequel to the entire series, but im slightly getting ahead of myself.
back to where i began,
-the worldstone is destroyed, and the exact effects of this are unknown at this point but you can be sure that this allows more demons and of course more powerfull demons and demon lords (aka act bosses) to pour through into the world of sanctuary.
-the prime evils are trapped in the void, in the burning hells, but as we all know no one is ever trapped in a void for ever, there are many examples of this is computer/console games and their subsequent expansions/sequels
-now baal's soulstone is the only stone not to have been shown being destroyed at the hellforge in any movie, but since both mephisto's and diablo's stones were destroyed, why not baal's as well, but a key point to remember is the fact that the prime evils dont actually need their soulstones to exist in the mortal realm, once they get out of the void.
-as you recall, of the prime evils and lesser evils, only two lesser evils have eluded us thus far, Belial Lord of Lies, and Azmodan Lord of Sin, now it was these two who banished the prime evils to the mortal world, and with the prime evils in the void, these two are prime candidates for ruler/s of Hell.
-now as many people speculate there is the matter of tyrael, is he corrupted, possibly, but it is a little overused concept in games, but somewhat logical, if one is exposed to a contaminated substance one often becomes infected themself, in the case of tyrael it would be exposed to the corrupted worldstone. of course if tyrael has become corrupted from exposure to the corrupted worldstone then the character/s from LOD should also be corrupted, they spend more time in the vicinity of the worldstone than tyrael did, and im not including multiple difficulties or baal runs. Unless tyrael has been corrupted by having part of the worldstone enter his body, but again this is a fairly overused concept, this is effectively what happened to the warrior in diablo 1, tal rasha and the priest guy (whos name i can never remember but should) who was possessed by mephisto
-another possible tyrael storyline is his banishment from heaven, if i recall angels in the diablo lore are forbidden from interferring with most humans and their lifes directly, tyrael has done this on several occasions through out the games and texts.
-in the diablo text (not the novels) it names several more angels and demons, but we have not seen them in any of the games
-slightly different but just as important to note, is the fact that there is a large portion of the world of sanctuary that we have not explored yet, that being the kingdoms of westmarch (the home of the Paladins), scosglen (home of the druids), amazon home lands (home of the amazons, DURR), the jungles north, East and south of kurast (the homes of the Assassins, Necromancers, Sorcerors and sorceresses), also there are some other important places on the map of sanctuary, namely the prison of Inarius, the ruins of the Rogue Citadel (the one that burnt down in the first movie)
how can you not get a game out of all that? I ask you
would be the post in question.

yes they are dead physically, but not their essence, it went back to the abyss. (this is what smashing a soulstone does)

Belial and Azmodan were responible for banishing the three to the mortal realm and they still control a vast amount of Hell's army.
they seem more sotryline related that Andariel and Duriel, yet we got to fight those two.
but yeh prequel seems logical, set in the sin war/capture and binding of the three.

I've long held that LoD's ending is not as open-ended as many think it is. It was always my impression that with the destruction of the Worldstone, Heaven and Hell would no longer be able to enter the realm of Sanctuary.
while that is possible there is still the matter of Belial and Azmodan. we should get to fight them we fought all the others of the seven great evils.

a game set during the Sin War/Binding of the Three, is quite possible. D3 as a prequel, it could happen. if its set during the Sin War that would be awesome. lots of demons and mages.
Totally. This is the period when the power of the mage clans were at its highest and there was lots of fighting between them. You would have the Horadrim when they were either being founded or a full on group.
yes, its such an interesting time period. Izual's betrayal, Inarius Inprisoned, the war in Hell, the Prime Evils fighting the Lesser evils and killing roughly a third ofthe denizens of hell, their banishment of Prime Evils to the mortal world, the binding of the three.

Id play that game.
I just dont like it when prequels have better stuff than originals, like Star Wars, the prequels have better ships and droids, then what happend to them in the originlas they arent there, i know the Empire is said to have gone hunting and destroyed all remnents of the old Republic, but still you'd think a few would have survived. but enough about that.

. I just think since they didn't have the graphics like they do now, they kind of had to focus more on that type of substance in plot.
hell BG2 and D2 have pretty good graphics (and story line of course) even for today. i like them more than the WOW graphics.
they just dont make RPGS like they used to. maybe one day they'll make a BG 3
with the ultimo end of the series finish TOB had, i doubt it, unless its a prequel, set during the time of Balduran or something.
but technically IWD is the prequel to BG, it happens 30 or s oyears before Drizzt arrives in Amn or whatever, and IWDII is the sequel to BGII, if you get the mod for IWDII, you can get some items from BGII, and in their description it says the ywere used by your character, as well as a few of the NPCs.

but Baldur's Gate 2 had one of the best storylines IMO....same with Planescape: Torment....ahhh those were the days
Hell yeah it did. the BG series was amazing in terms of storyline.
