I havent actually. I only got in once with serveremulation crack to see what it looks like. Maybe I should play it a while to get used to it and see some more of the world. Where can I download a demo with trial account?
Who knows I get addicted to it then I have something play untill D3 will be reallity.
Right now Im playing God of War on PS2; one of the best third person action games on playstation. You play Kratos a barbarion who actually looks very much the same as the one in D2. On your way you also aquire skills and get to activated or update them by finding red orbs by killing demons, open chests and break stuff. Its a really cool none-stop action game and not easy too. It has some good puzzling like tombraider / Soulreaver and with every skill you activate you also get another set of combo attack moves, so there are plenty of ways to fight your enemies everytime.
Exactly, first person only is an insane thought for a Diablo game. Though since it will be 3d, some different camera angles and custom options like a switch to fp view would be something to add optionally.
Btw I dont hope the new Diablo will go down the same changes as Warcraft did from WCIII to WoW-3D. I'm not impressed by this 3D conversion but maybe thats just the style of it.
First, regarding the view, you need to read a little more closely. I think that is what I said... unless you consider Doom, GTA3 and UT to be "third person".
Grand Theft Auto 3, if thats what you mean by GTA3 is definitely NOT a first person viewed game. Cmon, have you even played that game?
Shooters like Doom, Unreal are but not GTA, they never have been.
But, so you want to play Diablo in first person I understand. First person mode will improve the spooky effect but in my opinion not be better in gameplay. You will have no overview on your team players for example. And from this view only a horinzontal view is possible so like I said it will be difficult to aim your spells on groups of monsters if they are behind eachother. Besides if you are viewing from the characters own view you dont see the class itself.
A switchable view mode would be an option like in Hellgate London will be the case. But not only from first person.
I understand what you mean but an outside cam view is not called first person but third person. In first person view the character's own view is being simulated so you don't see "yourself" but only the sword or gun you're carrying for example. Third person view mode is when the camera is outside of the playingcharacter; this can be behind following the character or can also be in overhead view. So defining the persons view mode of a game does in fact not yet define the overview mode.
For Diablo's gameplay a first persons view mode is inpossible. Taken the amount of enemies you have to deal with at once, a kind of external cam overview is necesary and most probably a close behind character view mode would either not be playable in Diablo.
If Diablo would have be in FP/ TP mode it would be a whole different kind of game. How can cast spells on groups of enemies if the show up behind eachother. You need a bit of overview with large battlefields.
If we have to wait any longer you can probably expect it to be 4 instead of 3 dimensional. Maybe even "Duke Nukem Forever" (ten years in devellopment currently) is released earlier then Diablo 3

The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation. There is no date. We don't know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have "inside info", or there's some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know - they do not. They are making it up. There is no date. Period. And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard.
It definitely would be nice if they are already making plans for a D4 this means the current team is far from tired of the series and would at least mean they have put enough enthusiasm in the next Diablo III.
I would like to know the story before Diablo to know what the game would be about if it would came out. But im not really a book reader so I probably won't buy the book. Maybe you can find a ebook or pdf version somewhere.
Probably the time to make a D4 will be less then the time it took to go from D2 to D3 because the team have moved over to Blizzard headquarters, they have made a lot money on warcraft and.. the new engine for the next generation Diablo is already made for D3.
I saved them more then a year ago but due to a hdd crash I lost them unfortunately But.. Diablo IV is going to be a sneaking mission like metal gear. Evil has come too powerfull to fight and humans are hiding. The more monsters you can pass unseen the more experience you gain.
I wasnt recommending it i just saw a video of it and I was like that looks familiar! I didn't reccomend the demo to anyone i just said to check it out ! http://break.com/index/dave_chappelle_new_tupac.html
But im going to find a demo!
Roger. Did you find that demo yet? Btw, you pasted the wrong link dude this is not about Titan but 2pac.
Titan Quest works exactly the same as Diablo. If you haven't played the demo yet why are you recommanding it? Go download that demo somewhere and tell me what you really think of it.
I just found the the game that best resembles what D3 should look like Titan Quest check it out!
In 3D, Diablo should indeed look sort of like Titan Quest. A 3D world but still a static topview cam. I'm started playing the demo some time ago but I'm not sure if it can keep my attention. Allthough its like no other game really based on the diablo system, some things keep really irritating me.
The graphics aren't that nice an in Diablo, especially items and the interface.
Animations look and feel kinda slow like when monsters die. The gameplay and system is very similar to Diablo yet everything just doesnt feel cool enough. Maybe I just have to get used to it, I don't know... yet.
Let me know what you think about the gameplay when you have played the demo a while.
in an interview with former Blizzard North Diablo II graphics artist Kelly Johson that can be found on diabloii.net, Johson said this on a question about Diablo III:
P: "When will there be a Diablo III?"
K: "I am not allowed to say anything about Blizzard's future projects. I can only tell you that we are working on a super secret game that will be totally different from what we have made up until now because it will be totally 3D."
That interview was from september 2000. So almost 6 years later, we most probably coming very close to the revealment of this secret suprise whatever title it may have.

Or has this thread suddenly mutated into a general chatroom about anything releated to D3??
