So it was an expansion because it was authorized by Blizzard? Makes sense, somehow.
Not entirely true. It was an official expansion because it was authorized by Blizzard, :P. There's another somewhat popular expansion called Unearthed Arsenal, which came later and was not authorized.

Thanks for the clear up. I knew that Vivendi owned both. I thought Vivendi authorized Sierra to make the game and Blizzard did not give the permission for it.
That's the only reason it was so popular, it was the only authorized expansion pack. Back in the day, Vivendi Universal Interactive used to own Blizzard and Sierra. Sierra created Hellfire and Blizzard authorized it. It was the first and last time Blizzard worked with Sierra on a game, and allowed any other company to create an authorized expansion to the game because of how bad it was, :P.
Well, not that it was bad, but it contained bugs and was missing a lot of features that were supposed to be implemented, but did not make the release date.
Anyway, if you still don't believe me, check out the CD case. Top-left corner says, "The only authorized DIABLO Expansion Pack". That was the clearest pic I could find on google. I'll upload a pic of my CD if you need more proof, :P.
When it comes down to it, Hellfire is no more canon than fan fiction. In fact, in some cases I'd probably call the latter more in tune with what is official.
But you've included the books into the Lore page? :P.
Should we include the Barbarian, Bard, and Monk in D1? I'm thinking we should... We should also include HellFire lore, imo. Sure it's not canon or whatever, but it's still an official expansion pack. We should support it.
... And... I'd like to have the Archivist somewhere on the D3 page also. Should we add him in the classes? Or nah?
Mods are technically modifications. Expansions add on to the game. The two are very closely related when used today, I suppose.

I don't get what you're asking, :|.
I can make a D1 expansion if I want. It won't be authorized. But I can call it an expo.

That's correct... However, see below:

On the contrary, Hellfire was the only authorized expansion for D1.

That's not a problem. Though how come the D1 section instead of the Lore section? It's HellFire lore.
Truth. Maybe characters or something?

Truth, but in time we'll get more characters, :P.
No worries, I was just asking for clarification, ^_^.

What other main pages are we doing? Diablo I, Diablo III, and Media?
