Wow, I just got promoted to a Knight! coolio. (I'm actually not looking forward to being a Paladin though, I hate paladins with their religious zeal, blinded by their faith.
Thanks for the welcome, Stonebreaker. Nah, this is my first time on the forums, so its not 'back', but still, thanks. It doesn't really matter, its just the acknowledgment thats nice
And thanks, I like my avatar too lol. Apparently its a famousish picture, but I don't know where its from.
Are there different realms in Diablo like there is in DII? I guess there wouldn't be, considering there's only 200 people lol.
Oohhh, thanks Aphrodite. Is that a request I just heard? I think it is. lol, aren't you a graphics designer?
oh, I just realised how your name is pronounced. I heard that Joan of Ark song on the radio last night, and they say Aphrodite in it, but they pronounce it as 'Aphrodiety', but then I wiki'd it and realised that thats actually just how you pronounce Aphrodite. lol, thats good, cause 'dite' doesn't sound as good as 'diety'.
Heh, thank you for welcoming me to the forums Elfen and Requiem and Silver and probably a few others that I missed. I really appreciate it
Oh, and, welcome to you too, Requiem, for you are new to the forums too. (I really like your sig btw).
I've been playing D1 lately, mainly to get the storyline in my head again, but also to beat the game (I've never actually finished it before LoL - I was young). I played it online like once ages ago with my crappy characters, someone led me along to Diablo where he had confidence that I'd be fine... but I died straight away lol. Anyway, with my new character I'm up to the part just after where you get Valor. I haven't been spending that much time on it though, I'm mainly on these forums lol.
and thanks, Aphrodite, maybe I will keep my name. Haha, I probably would end up keeping them up because I just wouldn't be able to stop lol. I really wonder how well it would work though. I mean, they might take it for real lol, and tell others, and then later realise that its all based on a fictional game. hah, that'd suck to discover that. Whenever something is based on a game it suddenly loses value.
Edit: Also, I wish I had friends in real life that were obsessed with Diablo. But no, I don't. I diiid have one, but he's converted to WoW Not cool.
Holy crap! I've been here for more than a year!? lolll. Ah, no wonder i've been getting so confused with what year it is lately. Apparently I created an account aaages ago, but I only ever read the front page. Only recently, like, December 07 (a monthish ago), I actually started posting. Because of that, I thought that I joined October 07, not 06, so I've been getting confused thinking that last year was 06 and this year is 07 lol. Wow, this is crazy lol, I was here before a super-moderator. I'm like a noob in a non-noob's body.
OH yeah, and thanks so much for the list of admins and stuff.
Thank you, Brainpan the Squire. And I welcome you too, Brainpan, *bows slowly* for you seem to have only recently joined. I like saying your name, Brainpan.
I have a habit of writing a lot. I used to do it on myspace all the time, write peole freaking huge comments, and have a really huge 'about me' section. My thoughts just spill out while writing, because I have unlimited time to think about and write it lol.
Oohhh, now I see what Alphax did with his avatar. Because that confused the hell out of me, I thought my computer stuffed up somehow lol.
Hah, thanks Linkx, I appreciate tackles lol. I signed up in October but didn't start actually posting until December.
And thanks Soul, but I already got the book.
Hey, I was wondering, when did this site actually begin? And is there a list of all the moderators somewhere? Is there somewhere that introduces Diablo3.com itself? Like: "Welcome to Diablo3.com, the moderators are... this site began on..." Because I can't find anything like that and would really like to know.
When I first started posting, I thought I would just jump straight in and pretend like I've always been here lol. But now I suppose I may as well introduce myself. Also I'm really bored.
I have a myspace, but you have to add me to see my profile. Just message me first telling me how you found me. I get a lot of random adds from people that seem to want to be my friend but never say anything and I have no clue how they found me.
I am infact male, currently 18 years of age, and live in Australia.
The name Atrumentis comes from a combination of two latin words: Atrum meaning 'dark' and Mentis meaning 'mind' = DarkMind. I don't really like it though and I'm still trying to find something better, but this name will do for now.
My favourite hobby is learning about the history of Sanctuary. I don't have children yet, but when I do I want to tell these stories of Sanctuary to my children at bedtime. Except I'd have to make my own wording, like, "Once upon a time there was a man who lusted for blood..." lolol, Bartuc. Am I such a bad person to exposing kids to this sort of thing? Ohh, I could create a lullaby to go with it! It sounds silly, but the Diablo stories can easily be seen as metaphors for the real world. I mean, come on, 'Westmarch' aka 'Westerners' aka 'white people' lol. And Kehjistan is Asia. Its an allusion to our world, and I'd teach them to be neutural - a Priest of Rathma. Cause that seems to be what Diablo teaches us - or atleast the books do.
My favourite member on this site is definitely Master Solomir. I don't think he particularly cares for me though, but I really admire him for his extensive knowledge in the history of Sanctuary. lol, I feel like one of those annoying apprentices of old wise teachers, the ones that ask so many questions and want to know everything but always end up inferior.
Currently I am contributing to the Diablo Wiki, but only until Master Solomir finishes building his own library, cause then I'll go study in there with him. I often go to wikias searching for some bit of new information that can't be found easily, or sometimes someone's interpretation of something complicated that hasn't been properly explained officially. Thats what I hope to add to the Diablo wikia, I want to draw conclusions and link things together that may not be obvious at first. If someone else has information that contradicts my conclusions, then please discuss it with me along with supporting evidence. I don't like thinking I'm right when really I'm completely wrong lol.
If I lived in Sanctuary, you would find me studying its history alongside Solomir in an Ensteig library. I would also attempt to master the art of telekinesis, but I wouldn't be associated with any religion or clan. I'd have to try to learn it myself somehow. Meddling with mages too much is dangerous though lol. However, I would be interested in both the Priests of Rathma and the Druids, but I wouldn't be able to choose one to join because I wouldn't be able to join the other. I dunno, I'd have to research it a bit more, and probably need to go travelling to attempt to find their clans personally. I would enjoy travelling, but would only own an old travelling cloak because it would draw less attention to me, and it looks cool lol.
I pretty much live in an alternate world, which is why I love learning about history, except only Sanctuary's history interests me because real life history is no where near as interesting lol. I love everything old, starting from the beginning of this century. I also like grey/dull coloured things. So, old things + grey things = Sweeny Todd. I love the look of that movie. The storie's okay, the singing's okay, the music's okay, but the visuals are fucking perfect. Tim Burton is cool. I also love gothic architecture - gargoyls and cathedrals. Pretty much the whole style of Diablo is gothic architecture. love it. And I freaking love hoods. I want all my clothes to have hoods.
Oh yeah, and I'm a bit of an art student. (Though I suck at digital painting like photoshop and things).
There's obviously more to me than that, but this is just whats most relevant to this forum.
Annd.. my opinion on the next Diablo game? I don't care what it is, I just want something and I know that whatever Blizzard deliver will be freaking awesome. Though I'd be dissappointed if the graphics end up like all their other 3D games. Somehow, Blizzard don't seem to make very good 3D graphics, its too cartoony. I prepher if they stuck with the same type of graphics, because then you get all this cool detail in the architecture. Its more effort to make detail if its 3D, and takes up more memory, so they tend to not do it as much.
