His character is just so badly developed compared to how he was in D2...
Yeah, like being overpowered by Baal and Diablo while they weren't even near full strength. Or like when he was standing inside the Pandemonium Fortress, while sending the heroes out to battle the hordes of Hell. Not to mention he asked you to kill his own failure of a lieutenant, surely something he should have taken responsibility for. Or what about when he entrusted Marius -- the drunken bum -- with Baals Soulstone, telling him to travel into a demon infested Kurast, where he should take the portal into Hell itself, and destroy the Soulstone at the Hellforge, all on his own ... Was Tyrael drunk or stupid to have made such a request? Who knows, but hey, at least the North team were mavens of story telling ... yeah right.
Nostalgia is a lie. I've always said that. Some people just can't let go from what they've played as they were growing up though. :<
Oh, I remember Dune II. It required such skill... had such great story...
It's mentioned in Izual's story that the angels always wondered why the Crystal Arch never spat out a "replacement" for him. Meaning a new lieutenant to Tyrael. Meaning they have roles as they are born.
As I explained in IRC earlier Tyrael might not actually be "mortal" mortal. If that would be the case a new Archangel of Justice would've almost instantly popped out of the Crystal Arch. Instead he will likely reincarnate from the Arch when he dies "mortally".
My theory will go to waste once a new Archangel of Justice pops out of the Arch.
edit: And because someone said "well he did say "I'm... dying"" and then quit IRC, well, that was before he knew he was an Archangel, and even with that my theory up there still stands that he might've just reincarnated back from the Arch.
^^
But isn't he Wisdom now? So should a new one pop out anyway then or no?
He can call himself Badassedness if he wants, doesn't change the fact Wisdom is still alive and out there. He'll always be Justice as that's the role the Arch has given to him.
