I think you think to highly of some of the gaming community tbh. You say " They know beforehand the potential risks of their decisions". But thats not going to stop them from complaining..and when that happens, it just causes to much work for them.
But I think we are both in agreement on why it would be nice to have, thats for sure. (Like I said, its one of the reasons I wont be paying HC as much)
But after reading the other posts, I just feel for blizz and understand where they are coming from.
but Like I said, I think we agree why we want it =P
I didnt say crash, I said lag, and the server can indeed lag (fail to send packets while its still calculating) yes people have died to this.
And when people spend real money on this, they will complain BIG time to blizzard, we all know what the community is like over there. I 100% understand blizzards stance on this.
Next hardcore is a lot more... competitive than softcore. So buying stuff with real money.. kills the edge on that (gold you must earn yourself in game, its basic trading, while money is not) [Granted Im not one of the people that care if people buy gear with real money, but I totally understand why in HC people would no like that]
If you take the time to find a few of the blue posts on this, they go into more detail about why its a bad idea for them to allow this. [I did a quick search but couldnt find it, dont feel like doing a long search =P]
to your edit: I Agree with you a 100% that selling items in HC would be the best way to make money, and its one of the reaosn im sad about not being able to play HC if I want to earn real money, but I still understand their reasons.
No, no it shouldnt, could you imagine the crap blizzard would have to put up with when someone dies in HC due to server lag after they bought something for money from blizzards RMAH? I 100% totally understand and agree with them on that.. it would be horrible for them.
Yes. Again, Hardcore-mode characters will only have access to a "Hardcore-only" gold-based auction house, not the currency-based auction house, and will not be able to trade with non-Hardcore characters. Hardcore is an optional mode designed for players who enjoy playing with the risk of permanently losing their character if the character dies, and that includes the items they acquired with that character.
Nope, that is the one and only difference. But that one thing, changes your whole playstyle along with the "attitude" of everyone you will play with. You actually get scared and get a rush when you almost die.
and you can not trade items from softcore ->hardcore and vis versa.
and Dont do what hunter said =P everyone should give it a try, it really adds a flair to the game at times, but it for sure is not for everyone.
