Didn't take rocket science or years of game design experience to see how a mostly pve game where you can gear up to be doing 100fold or more the damage of a fresh 60 was going to make pvp balance a literal nightmare.
Open up the deathmatch... next thing people want is meaningful rewards. For a pvp system that usually means people want a ladder... Then people want a game where mostly skill gets rewarded but this is completely trumped by my first point that the gear scales almost exponentially. So the pvp rewards don't really feel meaningful, nor is there any real way of isolating the pvp without going absolutely crazy with pvp gear and rules that you might as well be making a different game.
I just wish there was a way for them to basically give up on the idea without stupid unrealistic backlash so they can go to announcing really cool new stuff... MP and Ubers was great or at the very least very good. Want more.
