I am just suggesting they have separate stats for skills/classes inside/outside of the arena. Not to have some golden formula that works perfectly in both. PvP can only be done in the arena, so I still don't see how this can be such an issue.
Right, they just have to basically design and balance two games instead of one. It's not any extra work at all.
It is a bummer that games are being led by the PvE kids. I don't understand why the game cant be balanced separately, for both PvE and PvP. The lack of attention to PvP just seems like laziness.
If you think this is an easy task, you should work in gaming, since to my knowledge no design team has ever done it successfully.
rofl. so many pvp haters making their voice heard in the thread where the poll shows otherwise.
how about we use the same argument as for the rmah. if you dont like it dont do it. it wont affect you since the game is not going to be balanced for pvp.
and to the guy quoting the SC2 about most players only played campaign. what a god awful statement.
tell me, what is that keeps starcraft BW still being played after 10 plus years. what is that will make sc2 be played equally as long. who gives a damn about pve in the long run? unless the content is updated as frequently as wow the pve portion of diablo is also going to get old fast.
why is pve players crying so badly that the game will contain more content that wont affect them? is it because you dont like that spotlight amongst players, epeen and bragging rights will move from pve to pvp?
The poll shows otherwise, what? You honestly believe that a poll with less than 200 respondents is a more accurate way of measuring interest in a game than the way that Blizzard has done? You think that one of the largest, most successful game companies, that has teams of professional people doing target market analysis and huge amounts of sales data know less about what the people they are selling to want... than someone that randomly posts here? I see.
I'd also like to point out that even here, less than half the people voted yes. That is not a majority.
The only people that seem to be upset are PvP players, that want more PvP content than is being offered. I've yet to see anyone upset about the existing PvP content because they think it somehow effects their PvE experience.
I'm just hoping that the next step from this poll is not that anyone tries to suggest that a sample size of 100-200 people reflects the majority of the player base of the game. At the very least, anyone posting on this forum is likely in the small minority simply because of the fact that they are following a game and posting about it in a fan forum, before it's even out.
I am afraid to tell you that the average person does not play this kind of game, or really any game competitively. They have stated that the majority of players for SC2 simply play through the campaign and may never even play multiplayer. They've also said that the average player will probably only play through Diablo 3 on normal, and this is from their experience with Diablo 2. So, to say that the majority of Diablo 3's potential players want competitive PvP, or really even care about PvP at all, I'd say is a massive exaggeration.
And who cares about the people who check in and check out, just as fast? It's the PvPers who stick around, among the people trying many builds et cetera.. but you get my point.
The people making the money from sales of the game are the ones that care about the largest group of people that buy their game, IE Blizzard.
Edit: Again, I'm not against PvP, but there is no reason to expect them to focus on putting a lot of PvP content into the game when it's not even done yet. They are obviously having trouble getting it done as it is by the end of the year.
