I was unaware of Molster's post, sorry. I am calm, but I am worried about influential people making claims they "know" the conversion while Blizzard already said it's not finalized yet (and Molster himself pointed out that it's a moving target, probably the reason why he hasn't posted it yet). Still, sorry for yelling.
6 days after Molster's post, there was this bluepost:
- The leveling curve for Paragon 2.0 has not yet been finalized, so we are unable to provide a direct conversion of current Paragon levels > Shared Paragon levels at this time.
As long as nothing is finalized, posting any sort of conversion table will just result in 100 re-posts everywhere, and from past experience we know that the disclaimer ("this is beta info and WILL change") will just not be re-posted along with it. It's like the Blizzard product slate, although there's even a message at the bottom people re-post it all the time and believe it's true.
Hey Overneathe, I remember you posting (or maybe it was your colleague) on the official forums that you had infos on the new paragon xp chart, and you even intended to make a paragon calculator. Could you please give us an indication of the xp conversion in ROS ? Thank you very much for all the infos
THERE IS NO INFORMATION ABOUT ROS XP CONVERSION YET.
You've been tricked by some streamers that came up with their own (completely nonsensical) calculations. But there is no official information yet about the paragon level -> paragon points conversion (only XP and not number of levels will count, but we have no clue yet how many levels will gain you how many points in RoS).
I feel bad for all the people that spend ages farming and buying BiS just for it to be made useless now because of caps :D.
Its a case of. " Mr.X played for time to time and got great gear, Mr Y played all the time and got Insane BiS gear. Now here comes Mr Statscap with a kick in the teeth to Mr Y, Now Mr X is as good as Mr Y. I love it.
With RoS both Mr X and Mr Y will replace their gear at level 70, so it doesn't matter. Before that (arrival of Loot 2.0 and leveling to 70) Mr Y still has an edge because he has more choice in gearing up (he can replace one of his awesome billion gold trifecta items with some other stats, like EHP or main stats which are not capped).
MF on gear right now is almost useless. Even without a cap, it would be almost negligible because the MF we get from other sources (parangon/NV5/mp) is huge compared to what we can get from gear (getting only 100MF would require 6 MF affixes, 5 if perfect affixes).
3 pieces (up to 45% on amulet, 30% Nagelring, 45% Sunkeeper). Plus, keep in mind that MF on gear only became worthless because it's better to get as much DPS as possible, gain as many paragon levels as possible, to get as much MF as possible. It's just that DPS -> paragon -> MF is better than going for MF on gear.
If it wasn't for paragon levels, people would stack insane amounts of MF on gear and either swap gear or make MF mandatory on each item. Just remember pre-paragon times.
Cap can work but I feel they are set to low already from this thread many builds will not work with the changes h0w does that help build diverstity by removing build options? My main wizz has arround 88 ias from items [...]
Right now, Chantodo's is a required set for CMWW wiz. Tal's chest is also a must-have. On these 3 slots there is no choice simply because IAS has no cap (but very high break points you need to hit). Add the fact that you need IAS on all three pieces of jewelry and gloves, and for higher budget it's also CC Mempo, Lacuni's, and Inna's (of course which makes at some point at least the Chantodo's weapon obsolete, but the rest remains fixed).
No cap on IAS made wiz gearing (CMWW spec) a one-way street. Oh and did I mention that CC is mandatory on all these items as well, again, because there's no cap either?
Caps help to make gearing more interesting and establish "choice", just look at movement speed. I have yet to see a reasonable argument as to why there should be no caps. We can discuss what the cap should be (some say the MS cap should be 36%, which I disagree, every class has some skill to speed things up, and TR monk/WW barb/Vault DH would be fast as lightning with an even higher cap).
Happy to see crit hit chance cap lowered to 40%. Also 250% crit hit damage cap is also good. This will make gearing more interesting as it's not just "trifecta all the way".
A bit disappointed to still see the MF cap at 300%
Remember, all those caps are "from items". PLvl, MP, skills, passives....all those can go over the cap (I'm assuming, because it specifically says "from items").
Sorry, I was being unclear:
I think 300% MF is too much. I'd rather see a cap at 100% or MF gone completely. 300 MF from items plus all the other MF from paragon/NV5 creates too much of a gap and makes MF mandatory for success (i.e., finding good loot).
