It takes a lot of practice. My advice is to learn with more toughness (vit/str gems, vit in paragon, some more vit rolls on gear where possible) and on lower difficulty (just run some T13 or whatever you feel comfortable). Slowly crank up the difficulty.
When I first tried out the build I got insta-gibbed on GR70. After practice, practice, practice on T13 and then later GR70 and slowly increasing, I can now run super fast sub-5 minutes GR80s for speed. Pushing is still hard on 90+ but I know that with my gear I should be able to clear GR95+ so I just continue to play on a lower level that is less frustrating.

Usually one way to do it is *always* Thunderfury on follower. However, you have lots of stun and freeze in the wizard builds (Blizzard, Paralysis, Zei's, and so on) that are CC abilities and thus proc BotT.

Zei is multiplicative. It does not interfere with Paralysis. For more info, check out this thread.
