Yep character customization is always fun, would you guys rather have limits to it, like f. ex. barbarian characters should be muscular, necromancers pale-skinned, or complete freedom over it, gender/body type/hair etc?
And another question for everyone: do you think Diablo 3 would benefit from character professions (crafting, enchanting etc.) or would it just hinder the actual gameplay?
depends on the gameplay and the story. if demons control sanctuary then would you want to be wasting your time on crafting a weapon?
and i like te idea of customizing your character. also depending on if the game is like diablo 2 and 1 or if it going to be like wow. you could change face looks. gender. but ya. customization sounds cool.
just thought of an idea that has already been said probably. but anyways.
what about different quest playability for different class.
ex. your a paladin having to search for something in a general area. the paladin gets stopped by this person. the person says. "oh your a faithfull paladin to the zakarum church you may enter this area to fight the demons that control it." you go through.
ex. your a necromancer doing the same thing as the paladin. except instead when you meet the person he says. "ugh, evil necromancers, i despise your kind and will not let you pass to help the evil from hell." so in order to enter area you would have to fight that person.
i had an idea that when you are searching for games. instead of having a list of games to choose you could have some kind of game search engine. so lets say you want to find a soj 4 hrs. and instead of looking through the sometimes long list of games. possibly missing the one game that is selling soj. you could just click the search game button. type soj. and wapa. you see the game you really need most.
-wicked, super rare items that have advantages such as tentacles that attack enemys when you wear tyreals armor.
Im stretching for new ideas.
it would be cool if you could wear like a special angels armor(if there will be more angels in diablo 3) maybe a set items and when you have all of them(which would be all your items) you could look like an angel and have the tendrils and stuff but the draw back would be you could only use angel skills and not your normal attack skills. also could be used as looking like a demon.
its probably been said but i think there should be some type of super unique items. ones that would be really hard to find. and these super uniques would be better than runewords. and maybe if you have found one of these weapons you would not be able to find another one of these. maybe even trade or sell them. which would make them even more harder to find.
autumentis@ thnx for the complements of the spells books. i also had some ideas where you try and lvl up your skills like they where lvls for your char like exp points for skills. which would go along with the spell books and skill tree.
i would like to see some spells books back in the game. were you had to find them and gain a skill. but still have the skill tree. so skill tree for class skills. but spell books for general magic. like healing or something. but still have a restriction to certian classes for certian skills. but what i would like to see is a more challenging way to use the skill books. like when you click on the book it opens pages that you read. maybe a riddle you have to solve or certian things you have to do to gain the skill.
something i just thougth about while looking at one of the threads talking about hostiling. ok so maybe diablo 3 will have one big chat room and several open games. so you get like 8 people on a team and you can talk aobut stratagy. so when your team goes into the game. there will be another 8 player team and it would be like a team battle. ya sorta like halo 3 and cod4. but still it would be awsome to see a huge battle between players fighting to the death.
something i just thought of was more history about the races.(i am calling them races) like amazon history, druid history, necromancer history. yes there are a couple of paragraphs about each class in the manual but i think it would be cool if whichever area you were in you could find some history in the culture. like lets say you go to the amazon islands. and there could be books there about the history. this could be a good info for people who want to know more about there class.
i think there is going to be another sin war. or if my memory is right the sin war is going on still. but according to the sin war books i believe that was sorta the beginning. so my plot of diablo is going to be that the war between the angels, demons, and humans will be at its most intense time.
and i think it would be cool if instead of getting skill points it would be nice to try and lvl up your skills by using them more.
well i only hope the fighting will stay the same. i hate it when you just click once on the enemy and they just attack till they dead. i could go away from my computer get a pop out of the fridge and come back and he still fighting. thats lame to me. and if they did do this then it wouldnt feel like a diablo game.
i know this was probably said already but maybe depending on what class you are determines which town you start at. Then you get to choose where to go to after you finish that act
this sounds awsome. you could be a amazon and start at the amazon islands. or a paladin and start somewhere in westmarch.
it would be cool to have a detachable cape. the cape could have some special attributies that could help you and you could take it off and use it with different armor.
