I don't think the idea is strictly good and/or evil. This is more alignment. For example, a "neutral good" paladin might go around saving people, while a "true good" might slay anybody who so much are hiccups, thinking they are evil.
OR we could go on the idea it is both this idea, plus Light and Dark sides.
So you might have a True Evil character who cares for nobody but himself, almost a dark crusaider.
On the alternative,
You could have a Chaotic Good which I described before, slay slay slaying anybody who doesn't show faith, believing everyone is beyond saving and must be, "Cleansed".
Ontop of that you would be working for light or dark. Or not. Whatever suits.
