choose class, prabably some old fav plus new ones (probably form WOW)
maybe a Hydro/geo/pyromancer or elementalist and skill are divided into elements. anyone here like the monk from hellfire

Why the hell does everyone want to be a vampire, yeah they rock but this is diablo, we kill vampires here and enjoy the hell out of it. you want to be a vamipre go play something else, same goes for elves and most ideas that involve half human/half [enter something stupid and undiablo].
no guns!, this is wot about 1200 ad, guns dont come till around the 16 century, the gun ruined medievil 2, guns will ruin diablo.
guardian Angel and the Demonic merc would be cool, mercs with full inventory will suck, they be too powerful, give them 2 or 3 more items
mounted will be ok, even if its just to get around faster between places.
An Arena for multiplayer were people battle it out as opposed to camping outside of towns kills level 9 people
if there is a single player, have more quests, maybe an arena style one (Fable, Baldur's Gate 2), have some that appear in the quest log, (or you could have some like diablo that dont appear all of the time). i think this is one of the only medievil rpg games that dont have alcohol, wheres the boozes=> intoxication could work like a curse.

maybe an samurai or a ninja, (none can defeat me with my mighty Yamoto Blade, hahahaha) a hell of a lot of asians play this game, you'd think by this point an asian would have asked. still i think it would be cool to have one.
and i agree with whoever it was that said some about elemental classes, you know the guys that bend that particular element to their will (there is an anime called Full Metal Alchemist watch it, its good better than Avatar the last air bender)
