But you assume the things we haven't seen are there, i only point towards the lack of these things as of now and make a personal guess based on what we did get to see.
You gotta admit though, this picture doesn't look as clean as the foggy "dark" one.
I think they're going the right direction, I like how the floors look in this picture. cracks, chips, seemingly no real pattern to it.
Meh, eerie has nothing to do with Diablo, and i don't believe they went for this mood either. I believe this is the "darker" places of D3 and it just feels way too clean and "watercolory" for me, it just feels Tim Burton to me instead of David Cronenberg. Its just a preference.
I pretty much agree, especially in that scene. Some of inside the church looks a lot less clean though. I still think they're working on it.
I dunno. I do kinda want things a little more "dirty" but I wouldn't call it "gritty". D2 was gritty but I don't want that, D2 kinda just looked like 1/4 pixels were black or gray or something.
In like the post Murderface showed and Doppel quoted. The stones on the ground the wizard are standing on look really smooth, not too rough at all.
I'd like for them to look a little rougher, more chips in them or something.
Anyway it's not gonna ruin the game for me but <shrugs>
Come on, you really cant blame him for HG:L. It just wasnt the same team and such... Rushed development, maybe not enaugh money?
It sure would be different if he would have kept working with his team in Blizz.
Oh sure I do.
He hopped ship. Now he's working on a different project. Champion's online. Actually they hopped right from the Hellgate team straight into Cryptic entertainments lap.
Like I said though, little to do with D3.
I agree d3 would be different if his team kept working, I think the art would be closer to what everyone was wanting but the gameplay might suffer. Of course there is no way to know that now so it's just conjecture.
Its funny how so many disregard what Bill has to say "because he made a pretty weak game".
I lost a lot of respect for Bill Roper when he let Hellgate sink, since I bought it. That's just a personal feeling of mine, has nothing to do with D3.
I do still feel like he acted a little jilted about D3. Bringing up the art direction after ALL this time.
It just reopened a unnecessary can of worms.
In any event I never mentioned the art debate or direction in my post. I just got the feeling he seemed a little sour about it all.
True Kenzai but like I said in my second post (I think). There is virtually no way they could have rounded up the whole team. Nor would it have probably went over well, they left for a reason I'm sure.
So I think they're doing the best they can without having much if any of the old team and I still feel like it looks like a very solid game. So far.
maybe it is just a different brand of art that happens to be more 'proportioned' when it comes to body parts, because they immediately think about Wow imo.
The female wizard looks very well proportioned to me.
I mean I don't wanna seem like I'm bashing him but I think everyone at first would have assumed that most of the D2 team would be working on D3, but it's just not possible. They're scattered all over now, and employed by other companies.
So should they have just abandoned the idea of D3? Or found a new capable team like they have tried to do.
The art, sure it's different, but I don't think that automatically means it's bad or is going to fail. It still looks so far to be a very solid game.
I just think he's a little jealous he won't be getting a slice of the pie this time.

I don't feel it's necessarily bad, but that's just me.

Then maybe I'll care what he has to say.
It just really sounds like he's eating sour grapes lately.
