i hope Blizzard uses a "Bind when used" thing or "binds when picked up" on the items to make sure that only the ones that put effort to play the game get the most valuable items. In general there are loads of things i want to see in Diablo 3 from WoW (not the graphics though, hold ur fire - and also not another MMO yet).
(only in november 2006 more then 100.000 accounts where banned because of this and about 12 million illigal gold removed from european, american and korean servers).
these accounts arent included in the 7 million subscribers. Anyway, there are gold farmers/sellers, but we, the normal players/raiders keep reporting them and getting them out of the game.
About the amount on second thought there might be more than i first thought since it cant be that the same account plays on 2 servers at the same time and most sites do have farmers on every server on both factions. Anyway, from a little research the gold prices are going really high, which means that they get banned far more than they'd like to
ofcourse there would,..the other half maybe???? lol
btw you dont have to argue this, its just a plain fact
i have to argue statements without valid points.
there arent as many as you'd think that actually buy gold on each server. As there arent as many (chinese) farmers as you'd think. I know that cause i play WoW for about 2 years now. There are gold selling companies, yes, but 95% of each servers accounts (at least) are real players, not some gold farming bots.
and i dont see any "facts" on ur posts, dude. Just saying something doesnt make it a fact. Especially about a game you havent played.

BTW: People are entitled to their opinions to like or dislike WoW... personally it was to cartoonish for me.
indeed, but trying to convince people that a game is bad/sux etc just because they dont like it is plain stupid at best. Everyone has a reason not to like something - but its completely up to everyone's personal taste, nothing objective.
you do know that a very big chunk of the 7-8 million wow-players are goldfarmers, most of them chinese. (there are 3,5 million chinese players out there, not all of em are goldfarmers though).
if the half of the server population were chinese farmers none would be there to buy the gold.
There are some farmers, as in all MMOs, but its mainly players.
Know how many of the recorded sales of the overall Diablo+Diablo 2 were re-purchases? I got the game 4 times, most of my friends over 2. Start dividing ^^
and back on topic:
i dont believe that developing Diablo 3 or whichever new game would take programming power since its different development teams. If you notice on the job-ops its "The team behind Diablo and Diablo II" etc thats hiring. Thanks to some of the WoW income too.
i know of around 7 million subscribers in WoW. Till now, most people i've seen to say they hated WoW were the ones that werent able to play it for some reason (too cheap/poor to pay the monthly subscription for example) - and they're way less than the 7 million (real numbers) i just mentioned. To hate it theres no reason. Not to like playing it, there is but its a completely different thing, no?
Anyway, its "The Final Diablo 3 is Coming argument". Why talk about WoW? ^^
Maybe Blizzard is waiting to announce Diablo III so that all the WoW junkies can become addicted and never leave.
we're already addicted thing is most will prolly play both games.
they should definatly keep d3 on the same engine
if it happened i wouldnt buy it. I'm waiting for a new game and i expect a NEW game. No old crap in order graphics/gameplay. I dont want it like WoW tho, i expect it faster and surely more "mature".
why the hell cant we get an actual worker from blizzard??
cause if we got him and he leaked info he wouldnt be a worker from Blizzard for long
I just listen to the ideas, job ops and other facts and dont consider facts the info we get from people with "friends that work for blizzard".
i think that especially for the annihilus they did it to get rid of the thousands (if not more) duped SoJs there were on the closed realm. Its the only way it would make sense to me since SoJs (legit) arent that easy to come by (only found 4-5 total in all the years i've been playing).
what most people dont get is that not all people arent looking for the same things. I like the specialization in WoW. I like the real roles in there (i'm a dmg dealer, i'm a tank, i'm a healer etc). Not that it prevents me from loving the good old hack & slash of Diablo ofc, its just that after so many years i dont think it has anything more to offer to me (Diablo 2). I'm sure that Diablo 3 will live up to my expectations as did all Blizzard games to this day.
I sure like a quite a few singleplayer/free multiplayer games too (i used to play Sacred alot, a little Titan Quest and alot Gothic 3 and Oblivion) but what WoW has offered to me (with the ways to get to meet new people - my MSN is full of people i met there) is reaching what Diablo + Diablo 2 did. Till Diablo 3 (at least) i'll stick there.
I really hope Blizzard will keep the simplicity of Diablo 2 in Diablo 3 (as they did with Diablo 1 and 2). Its what made the game so attractive and addictive.
sounds still expensive. Anyway to me its worth it but its not the point. We're here cause we cant wait to get official news about Diablo 3 and to unite our passion for that particular game
think that they should stop doing WOW and just bring out D3 it will probably have way more users than WOW right now
sure, and if Diablo 3 will be like every Diablo fan wants it (free multiplayer), then they'll cut themselves of about 7billion $/month. Would be a really smart move for Blizzard.
Blizzard doesn't care if diablo fans get to wait longer for a game, it's not about that. It is about developing their franchises in the right direction.

blizzard has never made a game that overall sucks, while some people consider WOW to be crap, it has sold 8 million copies (even if some are repeat buys), so it. Blizzard console games dont do as well as their PC equivilents, but they do alright. Blizzard will take as long as need to produce gaming excellence. they are pretty high expectations for D3 (and SC2) Blizzard wouldnt want to fail their loyal fans.
some common sense at last!
No game can be loved by everyone. Especially Diablo fans are used to something more mature and brutal than the cartoonish Warcraft universe. WoW just held to the way the other Warcraft games were, just changed the type of game.
It's just so annoying it costs me 49 bucks every month
wth? how many active accounts have u got?
to me it only costs around 27 euro for 2 months (about 35$).
Important is what Elfen_Lied said. Blizzard want all their released games to be great. Nothing less but great. Thats why it takes so long to release them. And thats why there are so few, but so well selling games they made.
they always succeed cause they never get distracted from their major goal: to make games that even themselves wont be able to stop playing. The quality standards are too high and thats the reason it always takes so long to release. I'm happy with it tbh. And from the clues the people in here gathered... the time of announcement comes really closer!
that could be as much a Diablo 3 sign as a Starcraft 2 sign. Doesn't say anything about RPG titles. Both titles have the things showed here in common (Cinematics, Online Technologies like Battle.net etc).
