WoW may be cartoonish, but it has to be to be able to fit the entire world and items and spells and stuff into it as well as making it run as smooth as it can for the majority of users. Graphics aren't important as long as the game has excellent gameplay - which WoW has.
Maybe they fired the Diablo team because they wanted to do something outrageous with the Diablo franchise, such as making a game similar to Hellgate London, which has most of the Diablo team's former members working on it.
I believe that Blizzard is VERY determined on producing a strong and lasting standard for each of their game, and that's why it takes them so damn long to create and release anything.
I believe StarCraft Ghost was postponed for 2 reasons:
1. The next-generation systems were going to be the new standard of gaming
2. The fans at BlizzCon had mixed feelings about it.
Blizzard would want ALL fans to like the game, not just 50-75%. And as the rumored reworking of Diablo III wouldn't surprise me. It almost perfectly fits right into the timeline of Blizzard, in terms of Blizzard North closing.
If Blizzard has indeed set Diablo III to be reworked, I admire their dedication to their fans' expectations.
Well, I'm pretty sure it would be difficult to get a job there, so just do what everyone else does: Find someone in your family that has some weak association with Blizzard. For example, your mother's friend has a mail man that delivers to a postal office in a different town and another driver from that office delivers around Irvine California, and one day he talked to a pizza guy that once delivered a pizza to a road construction crew that helped a man change a flat tire - the guy with the flat was a Blizzard employee! OMG
I'd expect a company like Blizzard to have a new game for each franchise finished once every 2-3 years... It's been like 5 years since LoD.... Perhaps they have turned their heads more towards business strategies now that WoW has set in.
BlizzCon is not intended as an annual event, I as far as I know, they haven't even begun thinking about having one this year. I believe Blizzard stated that they would now announce games at BlizzCon instead of at E3. So if there is no BlizzCon this year, the earliest for an annoucement after that would be BlizzCon 2007.
Blizzard has ~3 monthes to get things organized for BlizzCon if they decide to have another one this year. Do you think they have anything that could possibly be showcased there this year other than WoW: Burning Crusade?
If you think no, then tell me what the rest of the StarCraft and Diablo teams are doing... Twindling their thumbs?
First Leg- Good
Second Leg - Good, then amputated
Third Leg - Woody
Maybe Blizzard is waiting to announce Diablo III so that all the WoW junkies can become addicted and never leave.
