I tried EA lightning bolt + cluster arrow (lightning rune with 2sec stun) before. the build does help survivability but damage might not be that great.
The problem is going forward with the M6 changes, this set up might be worse because your sentries would only shoot EA/CA when you do. I haven't tried this in PTR so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
nevertheless, I think the damage is just not enough to compete against cold or fire but it is viable, which is probably what is important.
I really like the idea. I'm not sure if it's feasible for Blizz' eyes but even if you can just basically trade two undesirable legendaries to one desirable legendary, i'm all up for it!
If your system is grabbed with some refining, i think it would even be better. depends on blizz, really.
2 targets and it's fine. on one target, a couple of warcries does the trick. if in case of RG with ridiculously high hp, a bit of running around in between is suffice
it's just sad that it is so bad... as far as i remember, the life-per-kill turned into damage mace (soul smasher? i forgot) is better than death's bargain though soul smasher has it's own shortcomings too.
I really pity these two legendaries coz they are so unique yet they are terribly implemented
