And even in christianity, after all, satan is basically an angel who said F.U. to god and went underground.
I think your theory is pretty sound.
Now we just have to wait and see either in D3 or in some new novel wether it is correct or not, but I think you're on to something
I just figure it would explain why angels hate demons and vice versa ya know?
(not to mention explaining why they are able to reproduce with each other)
It's kind of like whites vs blacks in our world. We are just two races to the same species, we are the same, but different at the same time. Because of this, we generally dislike each other for no REAL reason. But like in our world, their are some that see through the differences, and just see another human. Which would relate to Lillith and Inarius falling in love.
They didn't see an demon and an angel, they just saw another "thing".
But seriously though, what other reason would Heaven have for hating demons so much.
Think of it like this.....you have an exotic sea turtle species....that lives only on this one island.....one day, some of the turtles go out into the sea, in search of new places for food....
Eventually they cannot find their way home and are stuck in a new land they have found.....there is food, and they learn to survive....over time they change to adapt to their new home....
After thousands of years, when comparing the two species(the ones that stayed on the island, and the ones that left). They are hardly recognizable, but both are still types of turtle.
What if angels and demons used to be the same? What if there were two groups of them. One group liked place A. better to live, due to it being very beautiful(assuming heaven is pretty), the other group liked place B. due to it being very chaotic(hell)......
The two groups went there separate ways, and eventually started to resent the other group for what was viewed as betrayal.
Over time the two groups changed into beings that although don't look similar, are really just two sides to the same coin.
From what I've understood about Heaven and Hell is this.....Tyrael is the only angel that REALLY cares about humanity. The rest are indifferent, except for Imperius, who pretty much sees humanity as abominations and wants us destroyed.
Hell wants to use us for their own personal gains, knowing the potential we hold. To this end, Hell fears us and wants to gain control of us before we have a chance to side against them.
Now something I can't prove....but I've always thought that maybe Angels & Demons are of the same species....in that maybe they came from the same place.....cause I mean.....they can reproduce with each other, which means there has to be some kind of connection between the two.....
Anyway, enough of my ramblings about that.
I honestly think we'll be dealing with a plot between Imperius, and the burnings hells. Imperius wants us gone, so perhaps he's stricken some kind of deal with Hell.
Moreover, with Blizzard's past and it's present, why in the world would anyone think this many things announced on April 1st would be real? I don't understand why people would think three major things would be announced on the same day, let alone April First, and it be real.
To avoid any confusion, I'd think if Blizzard was actually going to release info, it would be April 2nd, if they HAD to do it at the start of April.
Honestly, if I ran the show at Blizzard.
I would make important, REAL announcements on April 1st, just to mess with everyone.
HAY GUYS NEW CLASS!! THE THIEF!
OMG ITS APRIL FOOLS, THEY MUST BE JOKING.
*next day*
LAWL NO, IT WAS REAL GUYS! WHY WOULD TRY TO FOOL YOU?
The reason for one ring on each hand is actually based story background, and not just a balance issue. Two rings on one hand actually causes them to negate each other, making them useless.
Not that i disagree. Having more than 2 rings is silly, in that it would cause them to have to severally tone down what rings do. People like strong items, not lots of little weak ones.
But out of curiosity exactly where in the story does it ever say anything like that?
Im loving it! The atmosphere, characters, colors look great! The skill tree looks cool too. Personally I dont care if they detracted a lot from WOW, because lets face it, WOW is a Blizzard game and it is a great game anyway! My only complaint/s have to be the purple item color (better red maybe?) and the 'traffic light' fury system, i think its better to let it look like a mana pool.
Game looks way off from completion though ... my estimate is summer 2011
I've never really understood why people complain so much when they see something similar to another Blizzard game in a new game.
Blizzard has ALWAYS borrowed, and modified their own ideas for use in other games.
To be honest, wow's skill system is more like a modified version of Diablo 2's skill system, and the D3 one is yet again, a further modified version of the same deal.
Hell, the Blizzard spell is in what.....3 of their games? Doing the same thing each time pretty much.
Just some things I saw in the interview that I liked.
1.) They changed those bloody damn lion statues
2.) Although I would prefer a total switch over to the old inventory style, the new one is pretty intuitive.
3.) They switched the equipment screen back to a more Diablo style, rather than WoW style.
4.) Although the Barb's fury system is similar to that of a WoW warrior, i think it will work well, provided that I always have enough of it to use my skills, when I want to use them.
5.) The little peek at what skill trees look like was pleasing, although now I imagine we will be trying to figure out which icons are what skill now.
Has anyone else noticed the lack of a Stamina bar anywhere? I wonder if we will just be able to run indefinitely this time around.
I don't think they really thought it out at this point.
No but he does bring up an interesting point. Clearly the hero had lived in Tristram at some point. Ogden does say "Much has changed since you lived here my friend. All was peaceful till the black riders came....etc"
He was most likely in some kind of inn or tavern near the rogue encampment in the beginning.
It can be assumed that due to the powerful evil contained within the soulstone drove him slightly mad(well really insane), thus he ended up in a nut house near the end.
After seeing what he had, who can blame him for going crazy?
As to exactly where either of those places are...who knows.
but aren't they kind of like the Vizjerei?- I mean mostly because they have to get their powers from somewhere, but then yeah i guess your right from that quote.
in the beginning the Vizjerei focused mainly on demonic magics, such as summoning demons. After the incident with Bartuc and Horizon they forsook those magics and returns to their focus on the neutral magics, those being mostly elemental.
If you want to take what is said in the book Demonsbane as truth, then the Vizjerei were almost destroyed by the demons they had summoned, and it was the lesser mage clans(such as teh Zann Esu) that saved their ass since they only practiced the elemental magics.
It certainly seems plausible. But it's probably just coincidence.
Like said, if this is a sign of the Triune then why is it not seen on any of the cultist art?
Also, the Triune worship the three prime evils, why would Adria help the hero if she was a member of the cult? Unless everything to this point was just a plot by the Prime Evils to get the World Stone destroyed.
Which now that I think about it, might not be to far from the truth.
FFFF, I want this game out now.

I honestly think one year Blizzard should do it.
Announce a new game, make sure its something people have really wanting the company to do.
Do it on April 1st.
Everyone will think your just trolling them.
It would seriously launch the hype level through the roof, resulting in large profits when the game is released.
Then you could follow through and actually make the game worth the hype, and profit more.
Honestly, if I ran the show at Blizzard.
I would make important, REAL announcements on April 1st, just to mess with everyone.

Not that it has any real story significance.
It also reminds of Demonsbane.
*Spoilers*
I can't find the spot exactly in the book so I'll quote it as best I can...
Zayl, a necromancer :: "...for those that know not the truth of Rathma, and choose to believe the rumors instead."
Humbart Wessel's reanimated skull :: "You mean like raising the dead?"
Priceless.
It can be assumed that due to the powerful evil contained within the soulstone drove him slightly mad(well really insane), thus he ended up in a nut house near the end.
