I stopped playing a month or so ago (like a week after the NT nerf) and I only have ~6mil to spend on upgrades, as I've always sold everything I could for money and not gold.
If I want to get back into farming, how should I be gearing for MF? Should I try to have MF in every slot or just on items that it would be less expensive on?
Also, most of my gear is left over from the almost infinite SS days and I only have a few pieces with vit/ar on them. Like MF, should I be packing every slot with at least a little vit or focusing on just the defensive slots, like chest, belt, boots, etc? http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Rethea-1763/hero/350667
This is such a ridiculous topic of discussion. Of course gear AND skill make the game easier. They're both edges of the same sword.
And in my opinion, until you have THE perfectly rolled gear, you haven't finished the game. Killing diablo is not the end of content... Replay value comes from facing different combos of affixes and using different builds and gaining gold and money until you have no upgrades left.
Like what other people said... primary stats, especially a primary damage stat + vit
primary stats + LoH, MF, GF, IAS, crit%, crit damage, all resist, life%, indestructable (unless the secondary stat values are very high, most items aren't going to be worth much without primary stats)
physical resist can bump up the price if it's combined with other tanky stats
some of the random procs are good if they're hard cc... things like slow and fear are worth less
Usually the cost of the gem on the AH is really close to the value of the mats and combine cost after the cut, so combining your own gems will be is always going to be a little more than 15% cheaper. However, people do list gems for less than it would cost to combine them minus the cut. I've seen gems listed for even less than the cost... a lot more than you'd think to. Don't underestimate how many people out there won't do any math in a video game.

Need some guidance on what they're worth post-patch.
