My 2 cents as a working adult who plays a couple hours a day, as someone who has been playing Diablo since Diablo 2 when I was in middle school (obviously not continuously), and as someone who plays for leaderboards with friends I've been gaming with 5+ years and RL friends (not #1, but as high as we can with modest playing hours, no illusions of placing higher than high schoolers or unemployed folks with more time). No moral high horse here or nuthugging, just what I perceive to be facts and ethics I grew up with.
Cheating is cheating. I think the best analogy here is one with MMA. A sport where hardcore fans have known for years has a very high level of dopers. "everyone else is doing it," is simply an excuse and not a validation.
mannercookie is the reason I played a crusader season 1, switching from my longtime #1 class of monk. Now, back to my MMA analogy; Anderson silva is widely regarded as the best all time. He recently was caught doping. There are two camps on this: (1) it means everything he's done before should be taken from record books because maybe he's been cheating the whole time and (2) he just did it to recover from his injury this one fight and should only serve the punishment for the one fight. No matter what camp you fall under, we can agree he cheated and should face the repercussions of his actions. How this relates to mannercookie? He cheated. Plain and simple. There's no excuse. There's no validation. People cheat all around you in all aspects of life. Cheating to compete with cheaters is still cheating.

I kinda count the big items I find that sell on the AH as finding an upgrade because I use that to buy an upgrade. But actually IDing something and then using it... not for near 2 months.

Sneaky hackers. I have been selling UNIDs but had no idea about this, I'm sure prices are going to go way down and stay down after they fix it..
