It depends on what you want. If you are ok with a passive style, go for Manticore. Personally, I don't like that kind of playstyle, so I am using a Kridershot even though I had a better bow.
The question is this: If you find a wallet on the ground with one thousand dollars in it, would you keep it to yourself or give it to the police? If you choose the former, then you are an asshole and I feel sorry for you. If you choose the latter, then congratulations, you know it is always wrong to abuse the rules.
D2 is made by god, D3 is made by blizzard employees.
And those "gods" tried to make Diablo 3 a MMO game, and made Hellgate: London, which is said to revolutionize the ARPG genre and failed even in comparison to Diablo 2. And then they closed the studio they formed without making any more games which shows how successful their visions are and how much they understood their playerbase. So if they have made Diablo 3, you wouldn't even have an ARPG game.
Returning to topic: In my opinion, keeping Adventure mode was a good choice. I have played the story for whole vanillia, and done enough act 5 runs in RoS. Yes, seasons mean a fresh start, and I did started from scratch: level 1, level 1 artisans, basic and empty stash, no gear. What you should look for is the similar rewards for both modes. The problem isn't Adventure mode being available; the problem is, Adventure mode is superior in terms of both experience and items.

I say this again: I lost over 2000 bot accounts to Warden.And most of them were on regular days, not on ban waves. So Blizzard care about bots and ban them regularly. So either you are extremely lucky, or lying.
Edit: Oh, and no, there is no loot server or anything like that. I can say this from the data I've gathered so far.
So I should risk my money to give you proof? Is this a serious statement because I think me speaking out is proof enough. To ruin my sells/income to prove some child on the internet wrong would be dumb.
Since the start of the Diablo 3, Blizzard banned around 2 thousand of my bot accounts. They don't only ban in waves. So this disproves your "Blizzard doesn't care about bots because they need active accounts." theory.
Also, from the data I've gathered from all those bots, I can say that loot is compeletely random. No specific servers, no lucky charms, not even wishing upon falling stars work. It is pure RNG.
I won't give any proof or evidence because my word should be enough. Because, you know, I don't want to lose money.

I remember this from Diablo 2: We selected our most heavy hitting skill to our right mouse button and spammed it until things die. Mana was not an issue because of mana potions; and it really hurt the diversity between the characters of the same class. Because resource was endless. Firebolt was the cheap and inefficient skill, Meteor was the expensive but heavy hitting one. But when you know that you can spam meteor endlessly, why would you ever use Firebolt? Or Fireball? Why would you use Teeth instead of Bone Spear? Bash instead of Berserk?
Current resource system in Diablo 3 solves this problem. Now you can make builds which require no resource (Mirrorball-Magic Missile or Multigenerator builds for Monk), builds doesn't rely on generators (DH marauder or Prep-Punishment builds), builds in between where some relies more on skills while others relies more on outside sources. But if we had the old mana system back, all we would have would be Cluster Arrow for DH's, x-palm+bell monks, Whirlwind+Hammer barbarians ect. (I really don't have much knowledge of wizards and witch doctors, so I don't know what they would use). But, even in the current system, we saw how bad things got when some classes had infinite resources.
Now we could change the current resources to mana, and have it llimited by not giving any outside source to gain it (like a mana potion). But the current system limits us good, and what would that change achieve?

The thing is, this is basic knowledge any "Diablo fan" has. This was how it was in Diablo and Diablo 2, and it is normal for the developers to use the same system that worked perfectly in the previous games.
I played alot of D2, you still cant tell me how it affects the game, instead you just say its harmful instead of actually telling me how, I look at these botting videos and in no way do they affect my ability to play, how can it? seriously its not like im required to farm, its not like its an MMO where i have to gear up to get into raids.
The servers have a capacity. If more people afk or bot, then more games will open for longer times, and you will get queues if you try to open a game or get lag if you are in the game. Which is what happened in Diablo 2. People bot, dupe ect. and each took toll on servers which created lag for everyone. And this is why afk farming and botting is harmful for everyone.
how about improvements toward itemization such as better affixes, more socketables, more usage for whites/blues/rares in general? I long for being able to create awesome blue/rare items that provide something unique that a legendary cannot.
This is an old debate. At the start of Diablo 3, rares were comparable in power with legendaries. The old design team said that this was because they wanted to avoid Best in Slot situations. While I agreed with this decision, some people disagreed with this and told that the legendaries should feel superior. The design team then buffed legendaries, making them superior to rares in almost every situation. And some items were much stronger than the others: Mempo, Skorn, Inna pants, Natalya ring, Zunnimassa boots ect. This created Best in Slot situation the design team wanted to avoid (and this made me a sad sad panda).
Now in Reaper of Souls, there are many legendary items viable for a slot. Just look at the front page, every day there are different builds which use different items. There is no Best in Slot (at least, currently). And while I supported the old design team's view of rares being comparable in power with legendaries, I don't think it is really needed in this state of the game.
