I remember when i used to see a lot more dfans mods/news guys/wiki people around these forums prerelease (Ophion, PhrozenDragon, Don_guilletine, ScyberDragon, Sixen etc) - these guys helped get me really excited for D3 everyday when I was but a lurker in these parts..
This a billion times*** ='(
D3 was the best game of all times... until it was released !!
*** Wow I'm very impressed by you remembering all those names. There was also Magistrate who loved rats and Mephito's Lament who was pretty cool guy with bad attitude. Damnit, I used to absolutly love this place so fucking much ='(
I remember when classes would get talent trees - barbarians had berserk, juggernaut and battlemaster; wd had voodoo, spirit and zombies(?); wizard had conjure, elemental and arcane. Wonder what trees monk and DH if they kept that system !
This game shouldn't be about killing monster to drop items and trade. It is the opposite, you trade to be able to kill monsters. It means you will rarely trade since most things will be bound and what you drop will be rolled to suit your class. Only now and then you will get a great item you don't need, it's not bound and will take the time to trade it with a friend or someone in a channel.
D3 is a suppose to be a dungeon crawler, not a day in the farm harvesting apples and selling then in the local store for oranges.
I wanna see the face of the fanboys that defended that aberration with tooth and nails during the game's development and because of their horrible feedback D3 were not even 50% of what it should be. Hope you're proud of the consequences of your sheep behavior.
Just some little question.. When you said the console game seems more fitted for a casual crowd, did you mean the game was easier / more forgiving ?
Or are you saying that just because the controls ?
That's still WAY too much money for a 1/4 of a game.
But you're asking for DLC which would be paying way more for what you get. And it's not like games that go with the DLC route typically make up for it over time so that you'd eventually get what an expansion would have given you.
I'm asking for a DLC price in RoS because so far RoS looks much more like a big DLC then a expansion.
See how Starcraft expansion offers a entirely new campaign as long as the original one. And how each WoW expansions provides a raid circuit as long as the original one. No idea why it have to be different with Diablo.

You pay a fourth of the price of an expansion with DLC and get, what, 1/50th of the content?
What DLC you're talking about ?
I paid 50 dollars for 4 acts, 5 classes and x game systems, in a time where i trusted Blizz a lot more then today. and I can't say i'm a happy D3 customer.
I can't see myself or any other of millions people that left D3 disappointed paying 40 dollars for 1/4 of acts, 1/5 of classes and something a lot smaller then x game systems when my trust in Blizz judgement is shaky as hell.
PvP would make the game a lot better but i'm afraid games like DotA and LoL nowdays occupy the space of PvP rpgs and mmorpg... I expect some decent PvP love at some point, but no more then a arena and a patch to correct statistics.
What I really, really miss in D3 is ladder resets...
And low gear dependency is how the game suppose to work imo. In D3 a single weapon upgrade might double your DPS. It's pretty ridicolous how you can faceroll the content (normal, nm, hell) by going to the AH and spending like 50k gold. In D3 gear plays the game for you and for that i can't touch that game any longer ( i will problably only come back when they revamp the whole gear system, if they do so).
TL2 gear dependecy is around the level of D2, whos the big referential. If you get good gear you kill monsters faster and tank more hits, but you will not be a powerhouse (unless you have really insane gear).
In the end it's matter of taste. I think the focus of the game should be character development so the stats you place and skills you get should play a bigger role then the random loot you drop. Other people enjoy the trade aspect of the game more, so a loot based game will reward then better. Personaly i already make my money by trading so i feel no reason to do it on an game...
I will agree that lob blob bomb and zombie bears are the two strongest WD skills. However i still like Dire Bats when you're under geared and need to strong skill to be used on safe distance.
Zimbie Bears is really strong but you need to pass some damage thrashold in order to make it use. You kind need 50k or more DPS, so you can quickly kill enemies. If you're enable to kill then, they will strike back and kill you. In this case i usually like direbats more.
My gear is not as good as you guys... I'm really in love for the Tribal Rites, ZD and Provoke the Pack tech. I get dogs, i get 1225% weapon damage burst for every 30 seconds and get almost permanenet 20% damage boost. It's amazing to finnaly get 20% damage pump without using PtV that actually reduces your DPs if you're using spender skills such as Dire Bats. Also Fierce Loyalt makes really bad ass immortal pets. To bad thorns suck =[
I think my build is a pet-fire doctor hybrid instead of pure fire doctor.
We gotta see how things will work with the 2h weapon buff, elite hp nerf and provoke the pack on most of the time. I think one's gotta build very DPS-ish (criticals) and only get some HP regen for dogs. The thing is, dogs gotta survuve trash mobs, not elite. We gotta see how the whole pet buff will turns out.
ZD will have a damage cap (like wiz's force armor) and this damage cap is proportional to your own damage mitigation. If things go right a offensive WD can summon and his summon will last a few punchs and pet oriented doctor will have virtually unkillable pets.
Also our base mana regen is going up to 45 per seconds. 150% increase, omfg it's half old vision quest free for everyone That and 2 hand buff will problably make my build actually playable past act2 !
D3 mechanic is so inconsistent and buggy. Why does LoH work with this bomb, rain of toads and energy twist but doesn't work with GotD and Acid Cloud ? It's all bugged and arbitrary, some skills are meant to be used and others doesn't.
LoH works just fine with Acid Cloud. That's usually the primary attack in a LoH build.
Last time i checked LoH trigered only the first effect, not the after poison. All the LoH Wd i know use Rain of Toads and Pyrogeist to trigger LoH several times per cast.
But if you say so, my bad. Gonna test it later. Still it doesn't trigger properly with several other skills such as Cloud of Bats who could make a good use of such mod.

Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days

Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

Not on Veteran / Elite.
