I've been around for a long time on the forums and what not but last night I finally got my first 70 in season 1. It took awhile mainly due to a busy schedule and now that I'm done leveling I started to look at what it felt like to get a character from start to the end in what now is the end game. It was first off a ton of fun. I took a different approach to leveling my seasonal crusader then I did with my normal mode one, knowing what skills there are helped me build a different leveling experience.
Again mileage changes with everyone in seasons, since I'm busy as sin I aimed to just enjoy learning different skills on my crusader and now have a very different build because of it. I kept jumping between story and running bounties, still don't know which one was more fun, but rifts certainly helped with keeping my gear up to date. I was worried at one point that I would get bored being hard set to keep a specific build, but it turned out to work for me as I built of gear that worked for that build.
What really surprised me is how refreshing it was to be broke again, no money made for a very rough go of things. When I first leveled up toons in Vanilla I had the AH, and with that I had a lot of gold, but the gold sink now is really balanced in my opinion. It is nice to not have the 35 million gold I have on my normal mode toons. I was left with choices on what to level up and spend my gold on which turned out to be something that I had missed from the leveling experience since I got my initial wealth.
The future road also looks really interesting, trying to find gear now with the paths left to us, choosing seasonal achievements to pursue as really made the experience of starting over a lot of fun, more so than leveling a new toon since my account is fresh. I just felt like sharing, I know seasons in their own have been a mix of a blessing and curse to some but felt like sharing my casual experience of the game. Now back to your regularly scheduled forum.
What everyone else has said, plus it lets you really start from scratch. Trying to level with a totally different build then I did on my main has been my main attraction.
I see that a lot of people have concerns but I'm just going to post how I've been enjoying the game. For me the seasons have been mainly about trying different builds out.
Now I know for most people they don't think about leveling a new character as a reason to try a new build, for myself it is how I get to know the class. My first Crusader is actually a bit malleable when it comes to his skills, just focusing on what is best with his gear and ended up using a build radically different then what I had wanted to play when I originally made him. Now with my Season Crusader I'm sticking to a build and getting to know the ins and outs of how it works while leveling her up. Because its brand new sheet I don't have to change everything to a new build and then change it back if it doesn't work. I get to just work with an entirely different goal and find what skills and like which helps it feel new to me.
I get that for most people there is this push for more stuff and I think there are some interesting ideas but as someone who gets maybe an hour to play a day at best, that this is a very good patch.
So I've been playing the Console version this last week. It has been a good bit of fun. I think that the main stat drop factor is nice, I guess I have horrible luck because I don't get it ALL the time. Again no problem there but I don't find constant upgrades like it seems you're getting.
For a casual, no internet method, I think it is nailing it.
No cap on paragon? So that means infinite paragon levels? Lawl
I'm seriously worried about that. Some people would be paragon 1000 by now, the majority hasn't even reached p100; how are they gonna make sure the game still stays balanced and these 24/7 players don't cause havoc to the system?
From the images I've seen each character has a cap on how much they can place in a stat. For base stats it seems to be 50 points. They each add 5 stat points each which means all stats can get a 250 bonus to their stats
Yeah there is a lot wrong with this Grid. For the first set of spells you put the DH Hungering Arrow above the Barb because it has a 35% chance to go onto the next target. If we are talking about single mobs it would be the weakest of the bunch. It only deals 115% damage to one mob by itself, piercing doesn't factor into it. To add to this Frenzy gets a very massive speed boost after stacking giving a guaranteed 1.5 attacks at 110% while the Demon hunter is a static 115% per monster. Again this doesn't even fathom builds that could make attack speed more valuable then a proc for an extra attack.
Hmmm I like how some people will say that it doesn't matter since the items are worthless being not better than what he has. While others want to know his secret. All I see is that a random person is having some random good luck with some stats to improve his odds. Working as intended me thinks.
I logged in, there was no problem for me. Let me see, oh I get it you tried to log in at the wrong time, Midnight your time was 1am my time, and there were two hours to go till launch.
So finally I made my first toon. After all the constant turmoil with how I would make my first toon I settled on the Wizard. So how did I come up to this choice? It simply was the one selected. I kinda had a rule, if the Monk, Barb, or Wizard were selected when I loaded I would pick them, If the Witch Doctor was selected I would go Wizard, and if the Demon Hunter was selected I would go Barb.
Well Wizard popped up first and tada here I am. So did you have a crazy story to your final last minute selection, or was it written in the stars?
