Don't we get a guaranteed legendary if we play for x amount of time and one has not dropped for that given time? Kind of like a welfare legendary?
No it doesn't work like that. It is more like if you run for hours without legendary drop a "safety net" system will activate that will start to increase your chance to find Legendary. So after some time your chances should be a lot higher that it will drop a legendary and it will eventually.
The system is in place because in this RNG system in some rare cases someones luck could be so bad that he could run for 20 hours without a single legendary drop which would kinda suck for him/her.
Its tomorrow too many tweets about it now, 3 in total just tonight from employes. Many achievements are simply converting or requiring more to finish.
Yes I know. But I think all the ones that are related to Difficulty (Do something in Hell / Inferno etc.) might become Feats. I hope not though. I only miss like Inferno Diablo kill on my WD and Monk .. then 3 acts to play with my HC barb. I think I have time to do them all today if someone helps with some waypoints or such.
Mr.Smith has been working late every night this week and when the weekend comes his friends have started farming mp10,
he does not wanna feel like a burden so he buys a item to up his dps a bit so he can feel like he acctually do somthing to help his group/friends out
and by that he enjoy the game more togheter with them.
You are way to narrowminded mr.i have not payed for a movie in 10 years.. so that´s LEGIT? xD
It just means he's a pirate and he steals his content.
It is not stealing.. Just copying. You cannot steal what does not exist.
It's amazing (and sad) the amount of self delusion pirates can generate to convince themselves they aren't petty thieves. Just so you know, it convinces no one.
Tbh I couldn't care less. I just love what todays technology allows us to do. Mostly I do it for protest against these huge media companies that control the markets and ripoff the artists and try to lobby internet censorship etc. If I wasn't able to get some of these products free I would not buy anything (pre-internet and Napster I bought total of 2 CD's and 0 movies).. so no one is really losing any profits. I do pay for quality products if someone actually makes something like that these days.
Mostly I use it for TV series that are not shown in my country or are many seasons behind. Anyways I'm still waiting for a service that I can pay monthly fee where I can download movies, series and music with a quality I wish to have.. then I don't have to use these other sources which are still superior.

Im really surprised at how high some items are still selling for. I sold some of the gear I downgraded to months ago recently and they sold within a few days. You woulndt think people would be spending that much gold on stuff that will be useless in one month.
Only explanation would be that there are tons of people who have no clue about the expansion.. maybe don't know it is even coming ?
I think value will at first go down but maybe at the very end it will raise a lot.. people buying stuff that they think "maybe I need this some day" etc.. Though it might go down even more if everyone wakes up and starts selling loads.
Tried it on my Barb lately. Went into weeping hollow and almost got killed by this elite fatty pack Better stay mp0 for a while. I have quite a lousy gear though and would need shield + 1h at least. Just using the 2h sword for Mp0 since its really fast to farm and has pretty good stats.
My goal is pretty much beating inferno. I had a long pause from the game and when I came back my previous Barb was in Act2 inferno and got killed in MP1 since I forgot how weak he actually was. Now its time to beat the game on inferno before expansion Would like to do it in MP1 but the gear required for that is kinda big leap actually. Crafting would really help but I don't have the recipes yet.
This is hurting the credit card warriors the most, and anything that hurts the credit card warriors is a grade "A" win in my book. You can see it everywhere this is being discussed, all of the arguments boil down to them being amazingly butthurt that all of their attempts to pay to win are being shot down by Blizzard.
That, and I'm sure more than a few of them were planning to sell some of those OP legacy items closer to RoS release and that was also snatched away from them.
That's not the point. The point is that Blizzard basically acknowledges that legacy items are, or let me rephrase, have the POTENTIAL to be more powerful than the SUPPOSEDLY NEW AND IMPROVED Loot 2.0 items. What does that tell you?
It tells me that Legacy items have no place in the new item system.. which is a lot different.
Blizzard should just take a look at the few legacy items worth keeping around and make level 70 versions that are better. e.g. Echoing Fury, Stone of Jordan, Sun Keeper, etc.
It shouldn't be hard to look at what the people who are farming T6 on the beta are using. It's mostly 70 gear with procs.
The point of re-rolling legacy gear was supposed to be to get us into T1 so we could start farming the new stuff.
Because they change the item stat system it will be hard to roll similar items now.
They want to reduce importance of CC, AS, CHD in items by lowering the maximum % they roll. Also primary/secondary stat system will make it impossible to roll certain OP combinations that we have now.
All these changes are to change itemization into a direction that we don't always have those 3 things we look from a gear (as,cc,chd and maybe 5 +soc+ls).
Not saying it is the best way, maybe they should try to do something with the affixes and primary secondary system.. at least allow rerolling 1 primary and 1 secondary / item and move some primary affixes to secondary.
T1 should be easy enough with crafted lvl 70 legendaries and rares..
Edit. What I think about legacy reroll.. Yeah I suppose it could be nice but I'm more interested about every new item we maybe find.. So I really don't care what they do.
The reason why these people on the blizz forums don't get much loot is because they spend all their time in the FORUMS and not playing the game.
I've been watching streams from T1-T6 and you actually start to get quite a lot of legendaries the higher you play with the current drop rates and add to that you also get them from gambling now.
I totally understand the gambling aspect of loot since if you have hard time finding some piece of equipment because of RNG you can boost your chances a little bit by gambing a specific item. I did this a lot also in D2 even though they nerfed unique gambing chances to the ground when LoD was released.
Those guys with 10+ hours without legendaries.. they idle in town while writing QQ in the forums..
Nothing is final yet but they are getting closer to the correct numbers. It is just fail from most of the community to QQ in the forums about too high or too low drop rates.. it is freaking simple it is BETA. First you find the boundaries and start going to the right direction from there. Blizzard has way more data than a random beta tester and as Travis pointed out if you combine what people have been giving feedback the data is the same as Blizz has which is like 1.5h - 2h / legendary or something.
So maybe there is a bug in that RNG protection system who knows thats not a reason to do such a huge QQ. Just give feedback, report it and carry on testing.
Why is trading and RMT a bad thing? If people are willing to go outside of the game to trade for money then that is their prerogative. Without being able to trade legendaries it is going to be a pain in the ass to gear yourself around a specific "game changing" legendary especially with the current droprates.
It doesn't sound too great to me to get a great legendary and be forced between a fun but weak build because I need more items to build around that legendary or a build that is strong and I put that legendary in the stash until I finish the set when I could have traded for it. This is exacerbated by the still decently large range on items and the still random rolls on what stats appear on the item.
Because creating RMT as the *best* way to acquire items is bad for the entire game as a whole.
I absolutely LOVE the way it's set up right now. I'm having a blast on PTR just farming for myself and my alts, and / or whoever I'm playing with.
RMT wouldn't be officially supported, it didn't drastically change D2. Most people don't even use RMT for items in D3 even with official support, most of it is gold (or gems, as gem prices determine the value of gold for real money). You can still farm for yourself and your alts with trading in the game.
Well imo it did. How many dupe hacks and exploits were created by these site owners because the value in it? Also all the botting really started in LoD when these item shops really started to run profit (pre-lod only some dupe rares and maybe sojs were sold in ebay mostly).
Other side effects are also account theft, scamming, spamming that happens already now.. PVPgold.

If Blizzard actually banned people who used third party sites, this issue would not exist.
Except nobody can prove that someone used a third party site.
RMAH/AH was the best and quickest way to acquire items. Blizzard knows full well that by removing those, 3rd party sites will become the best thing which would be idiotic even if you restrict yourself from doing it because you realize it is idiotic. I don't care if people like to do it - too bad for them. No sympathy.
If you think getting items will be too hard - well too bad again - no sympathy for those who complain that something that should be hard in the game actually turns out to be hard.
In 1.0.8 there are over 200 items that are legendary. In RoS there will be even more, and all of them can be dropped at any level. If you get 1 legendary every three hours, it will take thousands of hours to see them all. Beyond that, they only roll for your own class and you may get shitty rolls, so you are talking an exponentially larger amount of time to get the ideal legendaries for one class, let alone 6. If you are wanting to make a specific build involving a specific two or three pieces you may get them back to back or you may not see it for hundreds of legendaries down the road.
Let us take an example: How many mempo's have you seen drop? How many have had crit chance? How many have had 6% crit chance? Now imagine every single legendary is even more rare than that (as instead of it being maybe one in 40 legendaries it is one in over 200, since any legendary can drop even a leorics)
This is what it is going to be like without trading.
Is Legendary always a Smart Drop? If so then okey. But still many of the Legendaries that drop fits your class quite well anyways since the stats are correct. It might not be a perfect piece for your character right now but if it is an upgrade wouldn't you be happy about it?
I haven't found any Mempo's... not sure if I care about that specific item very much.. it is one of those OP items that shouldn't even exist in the game. I really hate when some item become defacto that pretty much every class and build must have.. same goes with many other items atm. Even if I could trade that Mempo.. i couldn't afford it EVER in D3 vanilla.. Okey maybe in RMAH but I'm not gonna spend 200+ for pixels.
My thoughts on PVP itemization is that you would benefit from the stuff you found in PVE. There should be a vendor that sells you PVP items according to some point system. This point system would be calculated on the stats of your gear, or in other words gear value (gearscore). This gear value would be the currency to buy those items.
So if you invested time to PVE and found nice gear for your character. Then you want to do PVP you could buy PVP gear from the vendor. Why we need PVP gear? To balance the stats to a reasonable level, probably need to replace stats like CHD to something else etc. We could also just have the stats automatically balanced for PVP but it might be confusing, when you enter arena your stats are way different..
Having 2 sets of gear would of course need a sort of switch so you could turn on the PVP gear.
Anyways this would still show the gear progression in PVP which for many must be an important part in Diablo games. This would also make people want to farm more loot to be better at PVP.
I been into the game again after quite long break. Maybe ½ year tbh. I regret that a little bit because I also lost all the friends from the game during that time.
So nowadays I pretty much do some solo thing or some public games. Trying to level all classes to 60 in SC and finish Inferno in HC before expansion. I've been playing mostly self found but every now and then I go to AH. My main SC barb got quite many IK set pieces because I wanted to do that achievement to get full set before Expansion arrives and you have to find all pieces since there is not trading or AH. My main SC barb is most equipped from AH, but all the rest is self found (mostly found items with other chars i've been playing).
With the main SC barb i'm also trying to farm hellfire ring.
So overall its been quite nice to be back to the game. All i'm missing actually is some friends and play company.
