Contest is over now. I was one of the roughly 220 people who posted their username within the first 60 seconds after the post went up on the FB page. Here's hoping I'm the one :P. I agree their premium membership stuff was terribly lame and inappropriate, but tainted or not... I'll take their beta key if they pick me ;).
lol their FB page got spammed so hard most people didn't even see the post.
Just wondering, and remember the D2 5 and 6 were very similar, if you glanced quickly. Big difference, when you needed 60 str, instead of only having 50, for that item you just found. Hoping the D3 number fonts are more clear.
Pretty sure the "Diablo" font is pretty standardized these days. But I could be wrong...
Sounds off to me. Sounds like you're applying supply and demand laws to currency when it applies to goods. If you increase the supply of currency(gold) this is inflation, causing prices to go up, not down. This is because the currency loses value if too much of it exists. Think about it this way, if the government printed 100 billion dollars tomorrow, and gave it all away to people, would this make everyone richer all of the sudden? Of course not, since that printed money would have zero value, prices will just go up to compensate.
Supply and demand works with currency too. In your example, printing $100,000,000,000 dollars would vastly increase supply, which would adjust prices downward (i.e. make the good, money, less valuable). Therefore, whatever cost $10 yesterday would probably cost $30 (or more) after the printing, hence, inflation.
Basically, inflation exists precisely BECAUSE of supply and demand.
I'm glad that now, as players, we have a tool that will let us leverage that information better. I fully look forward to trying to maximize my in game earnings using the auction houses (either for gold or real money).
I'm so hyped I'm not buying the game. How is that?
Perfect.
Anyway, I think it's great. I've been excited for D3 for years but only in the past few months have I started really participating on the forums. Diablo is a great franchise and I'm super-excited by the changes they've implemented. I can' t wait.
The fastest killer, when the top skill/rune build is figured it out, and one class outshines the others, this is the one class that everyone will make, guaranteed.
This will also likely be the first get nerfed to maintain balance.
Luckily people can switch skills without re-rolling these days and blizzard won't have to worry about making balancing changes nearly as much.
I'm honestly disappointed int he "flavor" context of this ability. But if it's a skill i'd ultimately like to use I can only a hope a rune will change it into something less... dumb.
I like the idea of bladed pole arms still like a naginata.
A team of 4 people. MF doesn't change if you have 4 people, and everyone gets their own drops.
I say an infinite thumbs up for this.
I'm glad that you now get your own drops. This ultimately makes it more profitable to fight with multiple people and you don't have to scramble and fight for your portion. Sure it was entertaining at times, but frustrating the rest.
Personally I think any class is going to be viable now. People will have their preferences, but if they're all balanced well enough every class should be able to accomplish it.
I'll likely be trying to farm with my monk. I can't help but think that AOE effects will be better, but we'll see.
I was hoping for some kind of weapons that could be dual wielded, but not bladed. Tonfa or dual sticks (bongtoogi is one type) would be nice as one handed versions of a staff weapon.
Didn't even think about tonfas.
Personally i'd like the ability to have some sort of handwraps so he's not really using anything but his awesome fists.
I can see a monk using a variety of polearms too, like a naginata or a hsu quandao.
I'm rooting for anything to make the boss fights more exciting, Diablo 2 was kinda easy when it came to bosses, especially if your character had the best gear, and even if not (moat trick at mephisto) it didn't make the boss fights exciting, either they were way too strong to kill (duriel) or you already had the best gear and you ended up mopping the floor with the bosses. I'd want them to be longer, that way it makes things more intense than a 5 second boss battle because your character has an attack called rape and you just spam that and it just rapes the boss so quickly its not even fun anymore.
"Rape" sounds like a great skill, i'll definitely be using that at the end game.

Probably, but isn't that really for them to decide?
Yeah. I punch cats.

I also like the idea of demonic/angelic weapons and think there is some good flavor there.
