So what now that Sixen is gone from the forums these will get almost ignored by diablofans now ? almost no replies and not even one moderator cared to say anything about the fact that a member had to post this ! I feel let down
It as already been 3 days since it was released and nothing was done so i thought i should do something about it. Here is the episode 31 of the Diablocast. I hope no one minds that its a simple member who posts this, i just felt the forum deserved to have this continued being posted on it.
If you missed the thirtieth episode, you can check it out here. Otherwise, the thirtyfirst episode covered the following topics:
The reason why diablo 1 cannot be bought is because the game's rights were sold to interplay with wich they made the Hellfire expansion. However it was only diablo one and not the whole franchise.
Thats what i believe at leat, i have no real proof of this it is only a theory. But it seems the most likely to me.
Interestingly, back in 2009, Bashiok gave a non-answer to this question:
Official Blizzard Quote:
Since each class will most likely have their own resource system how will item modifiers work without an item only being valuable for one class? Such as a caster armor that the wizard and witch doctor could make use of.
That's a good question, and something we don't have any specific solutions decided on yet. It will likely be a combination of approaches to ensure that resource stats stay meaningful, without making the majority of items you find potentially worthless. - Sort of a half answer but it's the best I can do without specifics that relate to systems we haven't talked about yet.
Something tells me that Diablo III will actually reference Diablo more than its direct sequel,
Well im not so sure about that, someone from the dev team in a panel said that the male barbarian is THE barb from D2, and i believe we will see a lot of references from d2 about kurast, mount arreat, Tyrael will be in there too for sure. I think only the act 1 will be centered around diablo 1 and the rest will explain about why they did what they did in D2 (Izual clearly say that it was planed all along with the soulstones and that it was too late to stop the real plan).
In fact, i am pretty sure we will see mephisto make a comeback just like his brother Diablo. The soulstones were nothing more than prisons after all. The only one not coming back is Baal because his soulstone was damaged in the event of his capture and had to be imprisoned in tal rasha, he did not need his soulstone to take fully possession of him (only to get all of his true powers back).
I am pretty sure i read somewhere that there will be "resource" related afixes replacing the mana ones, of course some of them will change drasticaly or be simply removed, but then again new ones could apear too. Maybe there will be a few class related ones but i am pretty sure theise will be on class only items anyway.
D3 will not be hosted like D2 was with the East and West servers, rather it will be north america in its enterity just like with the WoW and SC2 servers since it is a Battle.net 2 game.
Here's a tip for people who wants to post on the forums: WoW is now free to play until lvl 20, you can make an acount (if you got one already and is inactive you can make one on another continent) and a character just to post if you realy want to do it.
edit: actually, you cant post on the eu forums at all except if you have a beta account, i tried to post there with my SC2 license and it didnt work.
all this in the end is just to say that people have different definitions of what end game is. I see a lot of people say it cant be end game because its the same thing all over again, others say it *is* end game because you reached the last lvl and you are at the *end* of the game. But really, what is the real definition of "end game content". I think if we answer this it could end a lot of arguing.
To those who say it is the same thing again: In inferno it was mentioned there will be new and improved monster AI, new abilities and even new monster affixes (and maybe even more i think, not sure here tho).
To those who say it is end game content: If you *do* make the same quests, bosses and events, isn't it the same game over again, simply in a harder fashion ?
Even if i personally agree more with the "it is end game" side than the other, i think both have their right and wrong. But whatever the case may be, i think it will be a hell of a lot fun !
I think they should have an NPC in every act of Inferno mode called a Bounty Hunter. Everytime you talk to him, he gives you a quest to kill so-and-so randomized demon out in the wilderness that spawns in it's own randomized dungeon.
The monster would be as difficult and intimidating as Pandemonium Diablo from D2 - if you can even get to it. The dungeon would be specially crafted so that it would require intricate play, or near flawless teamwork to get through.
Upon destroying the beast and returning with it's head, a bounty is given. And for the trouble it took you to get it's head, it will most certainly pay off.
That would be AWESOME ! pretty much what i said in more details i guess.
i have two questions: first why is the date on the news august 23 when we are the 20 ? Second why is there no poll in the thread ?
As for the poll asked in the podcast my answer would be the infinite dungeon, and i would add it would be cool if said dungeon could have random generated bosses. And when i say that i mean not just champions and mini bosses like there already is in D2 but real big, act end like, bosses. Im sure they would be able to make a random boss generator with truly unique and awesome abilities. They could spawn every said distance traveled or at the last chamber of a floor before the stairs could open up for next level.
Btw Force i believe the word you were searching for when you were talking about listeners and viewers is audience.
I also wanted to add, as for the monster lvl cap in inferno. I believe they said that lvl 61 is the minimum as in the normal monsters will be 61, the champions and mini bosses will be 62 and the big act bosses will be 63. I think its what makes the most sense.
