Theres a simple google search for you, Feel free to add any comment or anecdotal evidence you want. But the actual facts speak for themselves.
Thanks for that! Couldn't figure out how to use that site myself. Looks like it gave me 6 mil results! Damn! Diablo II PvE gave me 64 million! What?
So bascially you just enjoy trolling PVP players then? Also, i noticed you deleted my original response to your comment.
I thinks its freakin insane that almost every other PVP topic has a few PVM players all up in it, making no sense and trolling every PVP player they can ..
I couldn't handle the stress in SC2. Kept breaking out in cold sweat, that's why I quit the game
Yes! And this is why alot of people never managed to duel in hardcore. At least you got the balls to admit this. Unlike everyone else in this topic..
Wrong... Alot of people avoid hardcore just for the simple fact that LAG KILLS. It has nothing to to about dueling. I never even got to the dueling phase in HC just because of these bad, black screen lag outs that would kill my characters.
This is why i play SC. I also, died alot in SC due to lag, but at least i never had to start over again.
Also, HC duels where stupid. They where like sissy slap fights that lasted a few seconds and people would either run back to town or stop the fight or DIE.... And thats it.
You should be lucky that the real, actual, good duelers didn't waste their time in HC. Because you would be spending alot more time playing PVM for gear than actually dueling.
It's really unnecessary to argue with you about this lol. How can it possible be the same thing? You die, you lose everything or you die and everything remains untouched. How can it the possibly be the same?
Also being afraid of lag is just a typical softcore player line. LOL
The actual dueling is the same....duh??? We are talking about D2 right? Dueling is dueling..
Just because if you die you have to start over doesn't change the actual dueling mechanics.
Don't make it sound like just because "YOU' enjoy having to start over after a 'death' makes it soooo much better...LMFAO.
Get over yourself man. Also, deal with the fact that BNET was always a laggy as hell. After a few lag bombs in HC i stopped playing it, and that was just from a PVM stand point
I am really enjoying the changes they made to Diablo 3. Much better build diversity now and the new legendary weapons are awesome. You know, D2 didn't really reach it's full potential until it's expansion.
Fact is D2 had more build diversity and better weapons/items pre-expansion including PVP. The D2 expansion just added more.
D3, expansions will just finally add all the features they promised/showed off in the 1st place.
Also, there are no builds in D3. Just load outs like Call of Doody. Builds actually take some thinking and time to 'build'.
Maybe this game wil be awesome in the future. But, until then i just treat it like an arcade game instead of a ARPG.
If theres anything positive to say about Diablo 3 its that it can get any worse.
Like the OP said. The only redeeming qualities of D3 are the enviroment graphics and game physics. Which actually, when you think about are not even that good either.
The only reasont the enviromental graphics are so great is because it never really changes and the areas are so small. Which is not a good concept for a true ARPG dungeon crawl. (See Diablo 2 or Path of Exile).
Also, the actual combat and physics can be really good. But also really sloppy. As in watching enemys hit characters when they clearly are no where near them.
Diablo 3 does have some amazing ragdoll physics for monster/player deaths. But really thats about it.
The most important parts of a ARG (diablo 2, POA TL2) don't exist in D3. Its more of an ARCADE shooter then an ARPG.
In Hard Core, PVP was the shit. Which no one of you softcore noobs ever experienced since you spend all your time at finding Catacombs Level 4.
I agreed with alot of what you said except this. ^
SOFTCORE is where the real 'dueling' took place just for the simple fact MORE players played softcore and had more time to build pvp characters.. Don't make up some false statements as if softcore is for 'noobs' and they spend all their time finding Catacombs Level 4. Thats a crock.
I made 3 HC characters in D2 that all died to some bullshat lag, which in turn made me never, ever want to play that lame concept of a game ever again.
I think it was about 95% (as stated by blizzard, might have been higher) of the people who ever played D2, got past nightmare mode. Take off your rose tinted goggles, sir.
Really? Because 100% of the people i know got past nightmare. ANd the majority of players i've seen wether in game, chatrooms and in forums all PVPd in some shape or form.
...lmao. People and their rose tinted goggles line are funny.
How about you put on some reading goggles and google Diablo 2 pvp.
I hear stories of people finding a legendary every 15minutes, every hour -- yeah, I don't see it. And this is getting really boring....
The stories just keep getting worse the more you read into them.
At the end of the day the game is designed for you to get fail drops and to rely on the auction house/real money auction house for anything.
Now, you can either play the flipping game, run bots, buy gold or staright use the REAL money auction house to achieve your goal. Which is sad really, but thats the core of D3....Unless of course you can actually farm NON stop for a very long time for pocket change picking up garbage.
But really, it all about crit chance, crit damage. And thats about it ....Sadly
Even though OP is a troll..All i can say is - Freaking spoiled brats.
No offense, but troll or not he has a point.
D3 was sold on the promise of pvp. When it was released they said pvp will be released shortly after. After 7 months of NOTHING they release a pvp blog stating that TDM is not fun and we will get 'dueling'.
So, 8 months for a duel button?
Thats just plain stupid. But, its a great way to get the players really mad.
SImple logic would have been. Simple duel button and work on TDM. NOT, ignore everyone and make them wait for 7 months just to say HERP A DERP.
PVP does not need a match making system or rewards.
1st. It needs a lobby system where you can check others gear. This lobby system should be simple where 1 person makes the game, becomes leader and can choose to kick anyone they want prior to game start. Also, the lobby leader can make the game private or public.
2.) Keeping track of wins only, NOT LOSSES. Winning is the only stat that should be recorded which would be useful in finding good players to duel. If stomping newbies is that players thing, then simply play against players with no wins. If a player is looking for a challenge then high wins is a clear sign of a good fight.
The only reward for pvp should be the actual battle. Rewards promote stupid players doing stupid things. Such as boosting. PVP should be kept true to its core. Which is PVP. Thats your reward, the love of the fight.
Introducing the RMAH removed the huge issue of just otherwise buying items on forums. But you could always also just buy stuff for gold from other people. Diablo 2 was pay to win as well..
WRONG. D2 was not pay to win and anyone who did pay real money for anything in D2 where mostly mocked and laughed at.
In D3 they took it to the next level and shoved the RMAH right into players faces. Also, everything that drops is crap and the whole game revolves around crit, crit, crit. Making the AH even more of a MUST than a fun gimmick.
Thanks overneath!!! Finally someone willing to put a stop to all the negativity. I don't mind an honest argument, but most of the trash that's been posted these past few days is just that ... trash. PVP is NOT & never was the main focus of Diablo 3 ... just a SMALL part. Grow up & enjoy the game or move on & find another one you can bitch about.
Funny, that you seem to think PVP is not a main focus of Diablo 3. When PVP was actually a major selling point of D3.
Don't blame people for being upset. Blame blizzard.
If i got out to eat at some fancy restaurant and order a 60 dollar four course meal and only get salad im gonna bitch till get the rest of what i ordered. If some guy told me "GROW UP AND MOVE ON: id stick a fork in his eye...lol
When you preach about how big, great and awseome something will be and only deliver 1/4 of what you promised. Expect the worse.

I got lag bombs of death in SC too....
Im sorry but whats the friggin difference?
Besides drying and having to start over again. Talk about pointless.. How about dying while leveling due to a lag bombs.
BNET was always laggy as hell. Thats the reason i stayed away from HC.
People who dueled in SC dueled for the sake of dueling. Not for the sake of dying and having to start over again.
Its all a matter of preference. Dueling was the same. HC or SC.
LMAO.. at i can't handle the stress.
...Cool story.

I spent the majority of my time DUELING in Diablo 2. Thats all i did and the pvp scene was huge from FFA to leagues.
So please, don't start this crap with me. Im sick WOW/PVM care bare kids starting these bullshat arguements every single time PVP is brought up.
DUELING was huge in D2. Deal with it.
Just remove crit damage against players and nerf damage dealt by 1/4. Sounds easy to me.
Funny, that you seem to think PVP is not a main focus of Diablo 3. When PVP was actually a major selling point of D3.
