You would start by modifying the "Monlvl" file and changing the amount of experience for each monster level (ie. a Nightmare Zombie 1 enemy is a level 36 monster and would give you 2568 experience points.) You can use the "Monstats" file as a cross reference for what level each enemy type is. I used to make mods back in the day for D2. I had a Full Sets drop mod, an XP mod, a Uniques drop mod and a Boss mod. Fun times
Forgot to mention, after you make the changes, you either need to add those modified files back to the patch file or create a subdirectory in your main D2 folder (data\global\excel) and place your modified txt file in the excel folder. Then you need to add "-direct -txt" to the Target line of the shortcut on your desktop under Properties. You have to start the game and actually load a char to have the game generate the .bin files (which you will now see in your excel folder.) Then exit the game and restart and you will see your changes have now taken effect when you start killing monsters. There may be a tool for editting the .bin file directly as I seem to remember something like that, but you'll have to check the phrozen site for that.)
I ran routes similar to Azri and I'm being totally honest when I say I killed over 270 goblins before I found the Vault. It took 3 and a half days of farming to find it so hang in there and keep searching and you will eventually have that elusive portal pop open
So far in seasons I've killed over 200 goblins (got my achievement yesterday for killing 100 and that was early in the day) and still nothing I know it's just RNG but it sure does get frustrating after awhile considering some people have found the Vault multiple times lol. I just keep doing runs when I can (Adventure mode of course ) and hopefully it will pop up someday. I do find the Rainbow Goblin pretty often which is like salt on a wound considering I couldn't care less about him (or her? lol)
Killed over 600 goblins and wasted a whole day farming with nothing to show for it, diablo has turned into a "luck" based game, even competing with greater rifts, get a good rift and you face roll it, get a bad one and you lose. same with gear, everything about this game is luck and has nothing to do with skill besides dodging a few affixes.
also they make the most game breaking item super rare. the funnt part is i had been farming for 10 hours my friend hops on and finds it in 5 minutes.
I feel your pain lol. I've been farming for this goddamn thing for the last 3 days and killed upwards of 300 goblins and still haven't seen jack squat while others are talking about finding the portal several times and having two of the hoarder gems. As per usual with this game I'll end up finding it after Blizz nerfs the hell out of it and it becomes useless and then I'll find the portal once a day for the rest of my D3 career. Seems like I'm always a day late and a dollar short when it comes to D3 For those also frustrated by the lack of rng love, just keep on plugging away and you will eventually find it. My wife is a teacher and so at nights I sit next to her on the couch and do runs while so works on school stuff so it's all good Don't get too upset, take breaks and remember that at the end of the day, the game is meant to be enjoyed, not endured. Good luck and happy hunting
I have the PS3 version so I'm not sure how the whole "profiles" thing works on xbox, but paragon is now shared for all characters on an account instead of each character having their own plvl.
I'm totally with ya!! Last night I was lying in bed with the controller in my hand having a great time The drops are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better and you can see that right off the bat with only a small time invested in the game. I was hestitant about buying the game again for PS3, but after playing for only a short time I have to say it was COMPLETELY worth it.
Lol I did see this get brought up in another thread, but w/e =P
Yea, from what I've read it's paragon 1.5 on consoles; Shared paragon level, but the cap is still 100 and you get the stats and MF / GF from each level. So like, no points to spend.
I hate doing this, because I know somewhere, someone will post a link showing that this topic already exists and I'll scurry away with my tail between my legs, but honestly fellow players, I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Anyway, I'm refering to this thread from the official forums: http://us.battle.net...92720594?page=1
Anyone here that can verify that also? I see there are already cheats for PS3 D3 for Inf. Health & Inf. Resources and character saves featuring level 60 chars with 100 Paragon so I wanted to know if anyone else that has the game and has started gaining PL's can say for sure if shared Paragon truly exists for the console version or if it just cheats.
As Jaetch and Krelahn mentioned, you don't need any stacks for the plan to drop. Just do runs until you get it and really it shouldn't take long. Serenity NOW!!!! lol.
