was doing some bounties with a PUG team on T1 at around 3-4am (couldn't even keep my eyes open)
one of the players was doing a bounty on dalgur oasis in one of the dungeons, escorting this guy and i ran with him
the others were all doing crap all in town
we just randomly killed a goblin and the portal spawned.
one of the other players joined us towards the end and they just killed Greed without letting it drop the goblins off its back.
that pissed me off slightly, but was just too happy to have found it
maybe its how things have worked out for me in all games that involve RNG
when you want something the game would refuse to give it to you, when you aren't thinking about it and working for something else, the game would give you what you were hunting in the first place
as someone who dislikes how D3 turned out.
PoE is worse.
just played it until i got out of the first city to the beach and uninstalled it.
like i read from another player, the main problem is the "feedback" of the game, it jsut doens't feel like you are hitting anything although your character does the animations.
even a old game like D2, or even Divine Divinity does this way better
another huge flaw is the lack of loot, hardly anything drops.
in the diablo series, they give you the illusion of more loot by dropping whites and gold but in PoE i was killing mobs and wondering what the hell am i suppose to be doing
the gem leveling and skill tree is nice, so is their potions concept but that lack of feedback is what killed it for me
Enrage timers are in place to prevent cheesy tactics. Cheesy as in beating an encounter using less gear and less effort than intended. Just turtling up would match that description if it sacrifices all output. Why don't you accept a dps requirement as part of the challenge? I'd say that's half of the challenge, while surviving is the other -as important- half. Removing one of those would trivialize the game.

isn't enrage timers, one of the most if not THE cheesiest tactic of all
so players shouldn't be allowed to survive because of cheesy tactics but the mobs should?
beating a boss not because you just stand in front of it and whack it to death but kite and actually use some tactics to survive is more fulfulling.
just basically overwhelming a boss with your awesome gear is like putting God Mode on.
Stop and breathe for a second, then realize that people's good memories of D2 included the expansion pack and the years to follow - not the initial launch of D2. D3 has been out for just over a month, with tons of room for growth in pvm, pvp, story, lore, etc. Just like D2 grew from it's launch, so will D3. If people can't be patient and decide to quit, good riddance.

someone puts out let's say some old Ford and over the years add in new stuff and it becomes a mercedes SLR with all the bells and whistles.
then that same company comes out and say that they are putting out a new car that is supposed to be the next in line after the Mercedes SLR.
but when that car came out it does not have most of the features of the SLR, sits less people, always breaking down etc.
are people gonna be happy about it and go but it took decades before that old Ford became the SLR and wait decades for it to improve or would they pissed about it?
D3 is not supposed to be compared to vanilla unpatched D2, it should be compared to the current version of D2

No, i miss having drops that are above my characters current level so i can have the anticipation of leveling up to use those items instead of going to the AH and buying the stuff i need for my current level

it is not nostalgia that i can play my D2 Single player without lag or server down times,
it is not nostalgia that i can mod and edit my D2 SP game
it is not nostalgia that i can upgrade the equipment for my character from drops alone in D2 and do not need to trading or use the AH to upgrade them
