A big issue is map hacks. In D2, you couldn't run a farm bot without some sort of map hack. If you can't map hack, the CD is unnecessary and farm bots can't operate.
Indeed... but how would they stop maphacks? easily one of the most popular "hacks"?
I hope that bots and duping does not work on Bnet2. Both of those made it posible to have uber items in large numbers.
This leans even more toward "World of Diablo" but maybe a CD on how often u can enter/kill instances/dungeons/bosses. That would be a sure way to stop the farm bots.
i think ppl are forgeting the number of player that is going to be playing D3... if they do ne where near what they would like to there will be over 5 million players by the end of the first year easy. There will be hardcore players out there like my self that enjoys 4-6 hours of game play each day( more on my days off work) that will be farming for items. Everyone will get the items they want in due time and effort! A word long forgoten in the d2 comunity.
BOE (binds on Equiped) means the item is tradable till u put it on.. This means if someone finds a way to dupe in D3 and has not equiped one of the items he may be able to dupe the rare BOE items ne way. If the items was BOP (bind on Pickup - i would be ok with) only then woud it put dupes out of the picture, but in doing so the economy would be horrible.
Back to the numbers.. 5 million players. If there was 5 million players playing every day... Farming a single boss for a rare and valuable .1% drop that took 1 hour to farm... there could potentially be 1000 of them items found ever hour.. thats 24,000 a day. Not everyone finding the item will be using it... so there will be plenty of items to trade off for what u want and need. Everyone will get there items so dont fret.
I wouldn't mind it at all.. Using MW2 as a the latest example, Many pc gamers believe the game was slightly bound to the limits of the consoles. The 8v8 limit, the dlc costing just like on the consoles, and no private servers/all US servers are among the most popular complaints ive seen. I dont know if we would have any similar problems with D3 on multiple platforms, but i think if they made it cross platform online it would be nice. I like large communities. I believe this would add some players. So if it wont dwarf the game any on pc... i say it would be a nice investment blizz.
To the guy about the console disc complaint... consoles still have multi-disc games.
Heres a PS1 emulator i like to use. with some tweaking and the right add ons it runs great.. i can even stick ps games into my pc and play them straight form the disc. I think its for xp os tho...
Im just glad they fixed duping.. well see how long it last tho. to this patch. Im grateful they even added a patch to a decade old game as stated before.
.. this really makes most the ideas here poof.. ive been thinking about it and i really cant think of anything tangent that would make good game play..
Idk maybe you have to give a % of your heath to revive your teammate, and he can only revive with that much heath. This way.. you couldn't just keep rezing someone over and over. It wouldn't use an item, just the cost of some health. Idk. I would say it could be a % of your total health not your current health. That way you couldn't just rez each other back and forth slowly losing less and less life. Although, this seems it would make the Barbarian the strongest rezer... seeing as i believe he should have the most health. Maybe they wont like this and make the mechanics work like Rezer loses x% of his own health but the fallen player will only be rezed with x% of his own heath. Then i thot about it.. and that would make a lvl 1 be able to rez a lvl 99 with no problems.. so maybe it could work it cost the rezer x% of the fallen allies' health. This would make it were you would have to be in some kind of range of there lvl/health to help them, but then barbs would still be able to rez sooner then other classes with there higher health if they didn't just put a simple lvl requirement somewhere. But, maybe the Monk will have some kind of ability to heal him self when there is a lack of pots or Health Orbs. This could make the Monk the best* rezer because he could rez more often than others. Idk im out of ideas.
You guys are right.. so far its on.. but the slower build time made me create multiple accounts.. i now have 6 cities to keep me un-board. The game isnt garbage. But its good either. But it keeps me busy at work on the pc. And im sick of runescape.
