About completions..... I can take 'em or leave 'em, I guess. I always skip over Khalim's Relics and just kill the Council and get the WP for Durance from someone else. I do have a full Trang's set though, so I guess they're mildly important to me.
What I'm finding most interesting is all the WoW comparisons that seem to be creeping into the discussions. My opinion is they are 2 seperate games, always have been, and always SHOULD HAVE been. Now we're seeing this melding of game philosophies, and I can't help but be a bit disturbed by it. As Diablo fans we've been forced to wait so long for this next installment of our beloved game that we seem to have lost sight of the reasons Diablo is our favorite series of games. It was always different. It was a game unto it's own. Single player, multi player, hey let's do a quick Baal run, these things were attractive about the game. With almost every new announcement Blizz makes regarding D3, it seems more and more of a Diablo-WoW hybrid, and in my eyes, that cheapens the game. I'll still buy it, I truely hope to enjoy it, and maybe even become a "completionist", but it is in no way what I had hoped for as far as remaining true to Diablo roots.

I have a few questions if anyone can please answer them. I can't seem to connect w/ B.net. I'm not even sure the game loaded correctly. I haven't played D1 in so long..... I plugged the CD in and hit "Install and Play Diablo" and it prompted me about C drive, but never asked if I wanted to create a shortcut. When I try to log onto B.net, it just times out and tells me I need an active connection blah blah blah...... I have a cable connection, and it's active, anybody know what I can do to remedy this??

I just hope with all these new chiefs in the house they let Blizzard stay true to it's roots. I'd hate to see some numbskull from outside Blizzard get the idea that they're gonna "improve" some it's games.

It's a matter of principal. They have said over and over that they are trying to stay true to the roots of the Diablo franchise with this latest installment, but if they make it p2p, that's not the case. I don't think I would do it. I feel Blizz would be trying to exploit the Diablo fans because of the overwhelming anticipation we've displayed over this latest news and their incredible success with WOW.
Not only that, my wife and I both enjoy playing Diablo. Our computers are set up right next to each other and we don't have to type messages back and forth, very convenient. If it were to be a p2p game, not only would we have to shell out $120-$150 to buy the 2 copies we'd need, then we would also have to spend who knows how much every month to play the game.

I wonder what the world record is for simultanious finger crossing?? I bet we could easily set it tonight. In a few hours, there are gonna be thousands and thousands of Diablo fans, all crossing their fingers, waiting with baited breath for the announcement.

All these people smack talking the freaking webmaster of this site. !! Have some respect, or at least look at the person's title before you go off and start flaming some one. If it weren't for people like Mockery, we wouldn't have places like this to discuss these games.

if it takes place before the games, then we got all the bad guys
Yes and no. If it takes place before, then we have them to deal with. However, since we slay them at a later time, we can't possibly face them in a prequel...

Yes. I've had many such weekends with Diablo II. HERE'S to the same thing for Diablo III. May it improve on Diablo II as much as Diablo II improved on the original.
Wow..... that's a tall order. When I first started playing Diablo 1 I could lose track of entire afternoons. Gone.... just gone.. Then along comes DII and there went entire weeekends. Gone.... I even had to go buy new computers to play the game, and since both my wife and I enjoy playing, that meant 2 new computers. If DIII improves that much on DII, shit.... I could lose months playing the game. How awesome would that be..

Hi, It's my first post here.
I've been lurking for some quite time now and didn't see the possibility mentioned that -
What if the penguin, which lives in the north, referring to blizzard north.
Which state it big - Blizzard north is not dead.
~peace
Sorry to rain on your parade.... but penguins live in the SOUTH. The Southern regions have penguins..... none of them in the North.

Glad I'm at work tonight instead of sleeping. Now I'll get to be wide awake and furious/annoyed/perplexed when Blizzard reveals the next "clue" instead of sleeping soundly.

This is Diablo .... Not a new version of 7Up..... We want dark and menacing. If we wanted refreshing there's always iced tea for that.
JK...... I really don't mind what direction this game goes as long as it gets there soon...

That's a perfect match.... I guess we find out in a few hours.
