Expansions don't have to be started in a clean slate... it's supposed to be in addition to what you already have. it will persist through the expansion and nothing about loot drops have to be changed because... loot is still hard to get on your own that is an upgrade.
Well this is what came out for LoD excluding patches. Two new character classes An entire new Act Increased Character Stash Higher resolution New treasure types Improved hirable NPC interface New Horadric Cube recipes Item swapping Eight new skill hotkeys Interactive environments
I imagine D3 expansion will just bring in all the stuff they removed to rush this game out like Mystic Artisan, Talisman, and whatever else I forgot on top of new act, new class, and new gear. monsters affixes etc or expand on Paragon.
The Butcher’s Sickle (1h Axe) – This item will now give players a chance to cast the Butcher’s sickle attack, dragging enemies to them. The tooltip should read something along the lines of: “X% chance to drag enemies to you when attacking.
Hellrack (Crossbow) – This weapon will have a chance to cast Jailer on enemies, rooting them to the ground. The tooltip should read something like: “Chance to root enemies to the ground when you hit them.”
The ones crying about not being able to spam zombie bears for a few more seconds than before, they are buffing the other big mana spending spells up to par so Zombie bears isn't the only way to do dmg.
And considering HP is being nerfed on elites in inferno, you won't even need more than a few seconds of zombie bears to gib them.
What are you guys expecting? The abilities are there, theres LOTS of them and they aren't being used because their damage is crap and not up to par with the obvious choices that do most dmg.
What else do you want them to do? change them even though they don't need to be changed considering they are already alternatives of a base ability?
If the new set is buffed as much as what we are seeing in the preview then there is no point in wearing old sets because you will gimp yourself in a lot of stats.
Not to be the negative nancy here, but this sampling they have shown has some nice improvements, but with very specific stats on them to make them viable. The flavor properties and new effects are nice - but I would like to hear about whether or not they have looked at the items as a whole and the RNG property rolls. Because some of these new items are great, but what they showed you is of course going to have a nice roll of stats on them. If we start finding these new legendaries with ridiculous rolls of stats on them - for instance a Windforce that rolls +200 Intelligence and not Dexeterity. Are they addressing that and eliminating some of the complete RNG from the items and having them roll the basic stats it should have for the type of weapon the class most likely to use it?
Random rolls are still in if you see the comment about not everything is changing like helm of command. But it's not bad as long as stats are UP there with the unique effects on them.
I wouldn't mind if that thing rolled INT because i'd give it to my Wizard and do a fire build around it...
I will throw this here too if you think Life On Hit will be nerfed because you can't read something that specifically points to life steal in the guide.
And you´re just ignoring the mention of gems because...? And yes life steal require "a hit", but first of all it would be retarded to use the phrase "heal you on hit" if you´re refering to life steal when there´s also a LoH that works entirely different. And second of all: life steal, life on hit AND life after kill is mentioned when only life steal of those 3 actually is nerfed. So please, before you throw "reading comprehension problem" accusations around, read the text as a whole.
There is no skill in this game, its all luck. You get good gear, grats the game just got a whole lot easier.
Krip is a bad example of showing skill... he was completely geared out the ass and taking non risk farm methods such as resplendant chests and goblin farming.

And even if you do, by that time you will most likely be in crazy gear before then so... still want to wear MF gear?
Patch 1.04: Patching fun into the game.

Energy Twister proc rate nerfed.
Critical Mass is still the same.
ww/cm build is still doable in 1.04 but why stick to gimmick button mash god mode build when every other ability is getting buffed.

Inferno was pretty much rushed out with last minute decisions which enrage timer is one of them.
