Full immunity is just plain obnoxious, I feel if it is something that a player cannot reach (full immunity) it shouldn't be something a creature can gain unless it reasonably would naturally have a resistance to it. (a fire demon probably wouldn't care how many balls of fire you hurled at it, unless of course they are literally "balls on fire".)
Resistancemakes more sense than anything, I feel knowing which spells and attacks and equipment to use on which monsters is part of the game. I remember stocking up on freeze resistant armor when going up against Duriel(I HATED that guy). I know those kind of attacks were coming so i prepared.
Oh sadly I am forced into WoW addiction again, since HGL went down. (I know a lot of it sucked, but there was some great things in there too) No other long term games though, not even paid mmorpgs hold my attention.
Actually I loved the system in HGL. You could break down dropped items to different components and then use them in combination with a rarely acquired component (nano shard) to upgrade your weapon even higher. On top of that there was the ability to add specific items to a weapon to give them specific and known properties (mainly elemental damage) but it also altered its appearance. It at least gave you something to do with good drops on weapons you could use other than hock them.
Wow, everyone is so angry today! Well I for one will focus on the peter lee concept art. I love it, i want it, they need to release more of it. It completely captures the feel of what the game should be.
While I agree Blizzard doesn't take risks, they have shown that they do try out new ideas and often. There was an article awhile back outlining some of the canceled projects of Blizzards and there were a number of titles and artwork that didn't come close to their big 3 games. (Here it is!) My money is on something Brand new, it maybe that it never takes off the ground and gets canceled half way through. BUT I feel that if they moved one of their lead guys off of D3 to work on it that there may be more done than we know about.
I don't see WHY anyone even came up with a question about DX10 anyways? Diablo has never been about state of the art graphics - or any blizzard game, for that matter. Whoever expects Crysis graphics with crap gameplay will thankfully be highly dissapointed.
I think it is more of a concern for those who have graphics cards that "aren't allowed" to do DX10. If I remember correctly the Geforce 7700 kicked the but of most of the 8000 series cards and yet you were forced to go to 8000 if you wanted DX10. Basically get a worse card for better graphics, which is just plain stupid.
It is a concern for those who have a budget system with cards that cannot be upgraded to PCI express but still want to play D3!
On a side not I am glad Blizzard will not bend to the diabolical forces thrusting DX10 and the pointless upgrading of graphics cards on everyone:thumbsup:
I think that blizzard is doing the right thing. Its no point rushing a games release because its gonna end up like hell gate London and red alert 3>filled with bugs!!!!When blizzard releases diablo 3,it will be a COMPLETE,FULL,FLAWLESS,and SPECTACULAR game!!!!
Ouch for HGL, but I have to agree. Any new start up game company should closely look at flagship for what not to do. They had some elements of Blizzard; great ideas, pushing a genera, using a great back story and somewhat decent story line. Oh but the failures, namely releasing too early and not fixing the massive bugs or unfun gameplay aspects.
This is the reason I will alsyays love Blizzard, they take their time no matter what. No artificial deadlines, I bet if there was a huge problem two weeks befor release they would postpone it until it was fixed. The down side is that they don't crank out games like crazy.
I will respect (and burn with a fiery hatred) for their disission to take really long development times to make a game great.
Though it might not be sad for some.
I am pretty sure that a plethora is a type of dog.

Just out of curiosity have the World environmental backgrounds always moved as well.
