He continued: Diablo I and Diablo II are darker, and I think that the one of the main reasons why is the fact that in Diablo I, you're basically in a dungeon the whole time.
If you play the game without rushing, you will be spending a lot of the time in the outdoors. Just think about Act II and III.
I do understand the rationale behind this decision--to make some areas look "normal" so they contrast to the really dark ones--but I just don't think it was necessary: we already know what the real world looks like!
As World of Warcraft (the MMO Warcraft) wasnt Warcraft 4 (part of the RTS series), so a Diablo MMO cant be Diablo 3 (a part of the RPG/Hack & Slash series).
Any Blizzard game never really made you upgrade a video card, at least Diablo franchise didn't. Unless you have a completely crappy computer that should already be upgraded, then you will be able to play Diablo III No problem.
What I mean is that I don't want Diablo 3 to be WoW in the Diablo world. What I enjoy about Diablo 2 is that I can sit down and play 1 hour, tp to town and leave the game and I won't feel like I have missed *the* opportunity of completing that quest. One thing I like about WoW and the other Diablos is how I can plan my char build and how items play a large part of the game.
What I want from Diablo 3 is a Diablo 2 with exciting new functionalities, support for guilds and auctions, more viable builds, more skills and items, all that with an updated engine without requiring me to buy a brand new computer.
If Diablo 3 is a MMORPG, I will not purchase it.
If Diablo 3 has a monthly fee, I will not purchase it.
If Diablo 3 requires me to buy a new video card, I will not purchase it.
If Diablo 3 is highly time-comsuming and does not give me instant satisfaction like its predecessors, I will not purchase it.
My friend and I are planning to play a little bit of Diablo every week, after a 2-year break.
He has always been a sword & shield paladin and my main was a fire/cold sorceress.
I would like to try to get to higher levels another class than the sorceress and I am between a necromancer (summoner, the skeletons would take advantage of my friend’s aura) and a sword, battle cry barbarian.

You have a very good point there, FingolfinGR.

What would be an effective combat skill to focus on for a sword barbarian?
