With how much damage output the DH has, I think strafing will be much more effective in D3 than it was in D2, making the DH a very viable solo class. We'll have to see, though.
I think the DH will be extremely strong, though it'll take a little more effort to understand how to ration out hatred and discipline well. But the payout after learning should be well worth the effort. The WD is another class that will be extremely strong. I think it's up in the air between those two.
What's not understood in this thread is that there won't be a single character who gets through inferno mode first. It will be a group of people. The ability to solo inferno mode will only come from top end gear, which you get from inferno. The first character to solo inferno will be whichever character is able to get the best drops in inferno mode after playing through it with full 4 player games.
I know I'm contributing to this way off topic conversation more, I apologize, but the statement above is wrong. Blizzard has said you will be able to solo the entire game. Sure, parts of it will be much harder to do so, but it will be doable. I'm quite glad for this as I won't be playing with other people.

Jay did say it felt like classes were a little too complete with 7 skills and that 6 really limited their capabilities to the point of having to make hard decisions. Yay necessary group cooperation! At least for a little while.

haven't seen anyone die in their let's play runs. New information to me! And good information, too. Awesome improvement. Although, I did enjoy outsmarting the extremely dumb AI in d2 while naked. There's something about running circles around zombies naked that I'm really going to miss.
Duriel and xfering when friends are offline for sure... Who hasn't lost extremely valuable equipment after being random banned from bnet? Oh yeah... one more to the list of things...

I wonder if you can still lose all of your equipment if you accidentally picked up equipment that doesn't effect the appearance of your character while running back to your body and died again + ragequit/disconnect.

I think the response to the beta has been overwhelmingly positive, and hearing people say things like it's hard to go back to d2 after playing d3 makes me feel even more excited. D2 is always going to be very close to my heart since I essentially grew up with it, but it's going to be amazing to see where the series goes and how it develops.
As for a first class, I don't think I've decided. I started D2 again after the reset and I'm focusing all of my efforts on creating a BvC Barb. It'll be the first time I'm really focusing on a Barb, so depending on how that goes I might want to make a Barb. For a while I was all about the Monk, and I'm still definitely thinking about the Monk. And the Witch Doctor is in the back of my mind, creeping. I guess I'll have to decide fairly soon.
The website I'm guessing is going to be a great hub for all the information and traffic on the internet about Diablo 3, as it already has been. It's linked directly with the Wiki, so any information regarding the game is fed through this website or people affiliated with the website. And since PvP is a hot topic among many of the DiabloFans frequents, I'm guessing there will be a PvP community developing on this website along with JSP and the other diablo communites sites. Maybe as a suggestion... ahem... since Blizzard isn't supporting a guild system... an outside website could potentially create its own guild management system?
Great cast, I say. The biggest response I would have for it would be to remind Sixen that Diablo 3 is supposed to be the end of the story arch, meaning this could be the end of the Leoric family story arc, which means the end of Diablo 3 may not be quite as final as was suggested. It could also be the end of many other story arcs. We'll just have to see when the game comes out. But I loved all the speculation! Keep it up, guys!
