I will buy your game. There's 50 bucks for you already.
Thank you, Alpha. The wait is going to be at least a year and a half away. But I'd love for you all to play my game. I want to bring revolution to the industry, not just another FPS.

I took a couple days off of work so I could come back to my home town and have a good time, and maybe relieve some stress, too. But things aren't looking so good now, I come back to Cali tomorrow.
And I am sorry I haven't been very active on the board. Computers aren't at hand here in Snohomish, and stress isn't helping the situation either.

If I had the experience, time, and the power to create a video game, I would crank out a game that I've had in the back of my mind for years: An MMO that requires solo-questing to unlock many features that would be helpful in the great battle ahead...
Hmm, that sounds like a good idea, Alex. Maybe you can elaborate on that in a seperate thread. I would love to hear about your idea.

Well, the only problem I see with Zu is it does not meet the gaming standard. It doesn't really promote a sale. It does not tell a tale or describe anything to the gamer.
Zu - "What is Zu? Oh well" - Consumer
-vs-
Project Mayhem: The messenger of death - "Oh man that games sounds bad ass. Also did you see the video man was that cool." - Consumer
It's just the placeholder name for the project. It's not the 'official' name. I am, however, going to change the name down the road. I'd rather focus on the concept itself rather than the name.

but why Zu .... i'm excited why u chose that ... please tell...
Because of you Zubin. I took the first 2 letters of your name, and made it the project title.
Just messing around, but Lemuria is also known as Zu. Or Oz, Mu, or Pacifica. I was originally going to name it Oz, mainly because of the adventure the game will take you on. The movie 'The Wizard of Oz' takes you on an adventure and it was quite the revolutionary film at the time.

..and my post that was before yours explains the analogy.
Also, he is going to have to accept criticism from both sides of the spectrum. The analogy was to warn him of the dangers of multi-projects. Quality is generally not as high.
I didn't need you to explain the analogy, I understood every word. But might I suggest, if you are going to give criticism, make it constructive criticism. I cannot make the concept better if I don't know what you want.
But I work on both projects simultaneously. If something doesn't sound fun to me, I won't implement it. I won't allow "crap" to be in my game. No fillers. Just extra sugar.
Now if I don't feel like working on one, I won't work on it, and I will spend more time on the other. And I can see where you are coming from with your "... dangers of multi-projects. Quality is generally not as high..." bit. It's like having two girlfriends, but you only have a certain amount of love, and it spreads thin between the two.
All I can say to that is, I have a lot of love. I love video games, and video games are my life. I've played enough games in my lifetime to know what is good, and what isn't. Originality and a good fun factor are things that make a game sell.
Chris Metzen had many projects going at the same time, he was just smart enough to have them come out at different times, and he would work on them when the need be.
But thanks, NoExplanation and Goodguy, you guys keep me on my toes. And thank you Nick, you took most of the words right out of my mouth, even though you were more frank.

"He who have to many baskets, must fill with crap, not eggs." - NoExplanation
The way I read this, you are saying that my game concepts (baskets) are crap. I kind of took offense to that, kind sir. Instead of saying that these are "crap", maybe you should give some credible information as to why you say this. Maybe then I can respect your opinion.

By the way, if you've noticed the new avatar, that is a concept for Michael after his 'accident'.
Do you have any recommendations for voice talent? Say the actor for Michael judging by the pictures already on the forum.

Well I didn't name the project Oz, did I? So it's all a moot issue.
But prison could still work, being that the human body is said to be a prison for the soul.
