I was at one point thinking abouting purchasing a 1500 dps scorn with no lifesteal and even one with lifesteal, but then I took into consideration a 10% critical hit loss. It would have been a significant dps increase but I tested the build with a different two hander and realized just how much that extra 10% critical came in handy for Critical Mass proccing. Granted Energy Twister with Storm Chaser is OP for proccing CM but I'm sure its bound to get nerfed eventually so I tested the critical chance vs 2H build on other skills. I personally wouldn't give up that extra critical chance cause it is helpful. Even for other skills.
But the main purpose of an Archon build is to be able to keep archon up as much as possible. Of course that is also determined by how many mobs are in each zone at the time, if you could keep archon active long enough then critical chance wouldn't really matter, I think the longest I've kept arching up was about 15 to 20 mins straight. Though even your archon abilities proc CM so that's another reason why I feel losing that potential critical chance is a bad idea. Even if you can keep archon up for 4-5 mins by the time it wears off its already cooled down and you can use it again..
Sorry if I went off topic a bit, this topic is mostly concerned with is whether you really need life steal on your weapon or not. I do not run with lifesteal on my weapon as you can see, and I can tell you that if I'm not careful Reflect Damage mobs can eat me alive. But I have found a way to counter it. Not too many people like to run with Archon + Teleport, but I love it. I use it to speed up my runs also by constantly teleporting. Most run with Improved Dmg or reduced cooldown, but I can tell you Teleport + having some pickup radius gear is all you need, you don't even need pickup radius gear honestly. By the time you need to heal while fighting reflect dmg elites you've probably killed or done enough damage to one of them for a health globe to drop. Just teleport in and get it... =)
I am currently Paragon Lvl 12 btw and about to hit 13. Not sure if the profile has updated yet.
I've put all my values in and like quadruple checked everything and I am still missing "130" Int from the spreadsheet. I unfortunately can't find where the value is not calculating.
In game I have 2960 Total Intellect, on the spreadsheet its saying I only have 2830. So I have no clue where the 130 Int went.
It affects my overall dps on the sheet for about 5k. It's not a real problem I can just add the 130 int into a corresponding slot and it matches my ingame dps fairly close, but I figured this might be a possible bug and might need to be addressed.
Anyways once again thanks for a great spreadsheet and hopefully we can find out where my 130 int ran off to..lol
It was said before and will be said in the future and I will say it now as well. When you overgear everything in the game twice around and a bit more, every build will work. Hell, with your gear, empty skill slots from 1 through 6 with basic attack can probably clear Act1 inferno.
Not many synergies in the build but with 60% crit chance you can achieve perma stun pretty much on everything that survives around your longer than 5 seconds. Still dont see a reason why not just use proper build and melt everything in 2 seconds instead of wasting time to stun it.
PS. Your dps nicely edited on top of detailed char. sheet is too obvious...pure bragging. Might have been better to just post "Hey, I'm rich and I have good gear, give me a pat on my back!"
The screenshot was made for another topic a while back, I used it cause it already had my build that I used and some stats of my character, it wasnt a bragging post, honestly.
I'm currently in the process of selling off the gear. Already sold the Natalya Ring, and the 900 dps 1H xbow. Everything else is up on RMAH, or most of it. Working on selling them off also.
As much as I would love to give that build a try, I don't have anything close to the gear to support it. : /
It might not be as gear intensive as I make it, You can buy pretty decent DPS gear for reasonable prices now, well glass cannon gear. My gear is just expensive cause all of it almost has perfect MF. I was browsing the AH for decent dps gear and there was some pretty reasonable items up for sale.
testing it fight now, but never liked this evasive shot....
Like I said, Evasive Fire isnt for everyone its what I prefer. You can sub in HA or another hatred building skill of your choice. The build is more focused on getting a high Crit Chance to use EA - LB successfully.
I'm with m4st0d0n, you just posted this to show off your gear again
but honestly, it looks like a fun build. Did you consider stun grenades? I guess they might be a bit too difficult to use from range.
Lol not trying to brag about the gear, its just a screenshot I had already with my build in it and some stats and I was too lazy to make a bunch of new screenshots..lol
I did consider a stun grenade build, but most mobs just walk right through them because theres a delay period before they explode + the chance is too low for it too proc as well.
I tried a Grenadier + Cluster Arrow w/ Loaded With Bear + Grenades w/ Tinkerer. Its pretty fun, because your hatred regen is insane and you pretty much just spam Cluster Arrow. Only problem I ran into was that delay on grenades. I think it was like 10 or 11 Hatred a second with a Templar with this build, it was nuts.
Just a Stun Lock build I have come up with its very effective and fun to play!
Haven't seen anyone introduce this build yet. Probably because it is kinda gear intensive to be effective. Though I figured I'd write something up on it incase someone would like to try it out.
The Build / Gear Setup
The main skill at use is Elemental Arrow - Lightning Bolts. What this rune does is "Fire electrified bolts that Stun enemies for 1.5 seconds on a Critical Hit."
If your Crit Chance isn't over 30-40% you could also give Elemental Arrow - Screaming Skull a try. Since it gives you a base of 40% chance to fear a target, I have tried it and it does work on elites and its pretty effective. Coupled with a Natalya's Helm you could get your Fear chance up to 45%.
I use Evasive Fire - Covering Fire because it just melts through trash + it gives 4 hatred per shot as opposed to 3 from Hungering Arrow. You may prefer to use Hungering Arrow or another hatred building skill which is alright, whatever you feel comfortable with.
As you can see in the screenshot, my base Crit Change is 52.5%, I use the skill Caltrops - Bait The Trap because it brings me up to 62.5% Crit Chance when using my skills.
Also in the screenshot it shows me using Steady Aim, I have switched that over to Sharpshooter because the main goal of this build is to crit as much as possible keeping the Elites stun locked so they can't do anything.
I use Companion - Bat for hatred regen of course. I also use a Templar for his 1 resource Hatred Regen + I prefer him for MF as well. If you need more crit, using the Scoundrel would be your best bet.
How to use this build
Its pretty straight forward, I try my best to stay max range from the enemy because I am glass cannon and I normally die if anything touches me. Though Max Range + then I drop my Caltrop + start spamming Elemental Arrow.
Also a very good strategy is to lure the Elites to a small enclosure (Like a doorway) and spam Elemental Arrow down/through it. Since EA goes through the target you can stunlock numerous Elites at one time.
Conclusion
Hope some of you are inspired to give the build a try, it's very fun to play. Thanks for reading and hope to read some feedback from you all in the future.
Rodvik, your set up has me drooling... did you ever try the full Natalya's set? I'm using it now, but finding it crazy expensive to get my MF up, and keep decent dps. I had an Andariel's Visage much like yours that I sold.. starting to regret that. Do you find that you come into problems with discipline? With that much crit chance, I'm almost surprised to see you're not using Nightstalker. I'd love to make the switch to 1h xbows, but I can't afford it right now.
No never tried the full Natalya's set, at one point I had teh 3 piece bonus, but stuff was dying so fast that I didnt feel that I needed that 2 disc a sec set bonus. I had the ring, helm, and chest. Plus I didn't want the boots because the stats on the boots are garbage and the 1H is garbage also.
As far as nightstalker goes, i tried it, but I honestly don't need that much disc, most packs die before I need to pop SS like 5-6 times or I die and my disc is reset...lol, but thats why I use Prep with Focused Mind, I to get the most out of Disc that I can when I use the skill. Only time I really run into problems with my disc is when im fighting reflect dmg mobs because I have to chain SS + shoot to kill them, but I just kite to the point where my Prep is ussually up again so its really not needed. I prefer the bonus movement speed from Tac Advantage, its gotten me out of many tight situations.
Everyone has a different play style/build they prefer, I've just gotten use to playing mine so I really don't find myself running into Disc problems. If I really need the disc to kill an elite pack, I normally just kill one, and then SS + TA away so they dont follow me and wait a few seconds to regen disc and go back and kill the others...etc..
I would guess I'm the tank type with 45kHP, 600ish AR, 32kDPS, 33crit%, but only 100%critDmg, my clear rate for act III (I just pick the
path way to Ghom, and the Arret Crate lvl 1 to Az) is roughly 2 to 3 hours, make pretty varied from -100k gold (repair bills hurt) to 3 million gold (with good luck of drop n AH that drop) per run. I can't really do act IV cuz of being 1shot charged with those wing hulk things, ha ha, so act III is kinda optimal for me atm. Act II is ok, but drop quality can't compare to Act III.
For those glass cannons out there, typically guys like Rodvik and better gears ppl, I'm kinda curious with glass cannon option so, if I may ask you guys:
1. How fast can u clear act III and act IV ?
2. How many bag full of blue/yellow can u get per farm session ?
3. What's the percentage of rare lvl63 you find in act III n act IV ?
4. Is there any different between lvl63 drop in act III and act IV generally ?
5. Typically, how much can u make farming in act III n act IV at your current build n gears ?
Your answers (please Rodvik, ha ha) would help us DH a GREAT DEAL.... there is nothing more frustrating than buying certain piece for millions, only to find out that there are better options for a complete different build, only with BETTER results T____T (one could agrue that yeah right, what about lvl60 HC death ? but hey, that's a different ball game though)...
Cheers
1. How fast can u clear act III and act IV ?
I don't really know about Act 4 because I don't farm it. Act 3 I can clear in maybe 1 1/2 hours - 3 hours depending on the route I decide to take. That includes full dungeon clears because I like to kill all the trash also because with such a high MF I get decent drops off of them all the time.
I do a lot of 5 stacks, clear Whimey, reset zone runs also in Act 1. Those take me anywhere from 25 to 35 mins each.
2. How many bag full of blue/yellow can u get per farm session ?
Most of my runs take a lot longer because half the time is spent cleaning out my bags cause Im getting so many drops.
3. What's the percentage of rare lvl63 you find in act III n act IV ?
Can't really give you an estimate, but I do know two days ago I got 21 ilvl 63 rares in one run, didn't count the 62s and yesterday I got maybe 10 ilvl 63s + in the same run I got an Inna's Blessing (Legen Belt) + Blackstone Breeches (Legen Pants)
4. Is there any different between lvl63 drop in act III and act IV generally ?
From the small amount of times I have farmed Act 4, I have seen no variation in drops from Act 3/4. Random is random, I find pretty much every type of item in Act 3 as well as Whimey, which is the same loot table as Act 3/4.
5. Typically, how much can u make farming in act III n act IV at your current build n gears ?
Millions upon Millions. Lets just say I've gone through hundreds of millions of gold I would think, gearing my guy up. Like I said I farmed yesterday and found 2 Legendaries + I probably found a few million in gold from the other items. The day before I found a crappy Natalya's Helm like 80 dex + socket and I ended up selling it on RMAH for 20 bucks. My gear probably has cost me hundreds of millions and some RM but I've made over probably $1200+ on the RMAH also from gear drops I've found.
If you'd like a demonstration, I don't mind playing with others. I normally run with a barb friend of mine. So Duoing is nothing new. Throw me a private message if you want to duo Act 3 one time or so.
In 1.0.5 has experienced been equalized due to monster power? or do monsters in Act 3/4 still net better experience than in Act 1/2?
Thanks for the replies.

You sir are absolutely correct, 130 int from my 2 piece zuni set. Thank You Sir.
Dunno if the spreadsheet has a section for set bonuses. Guess ill just throw it in somewhere.
Unfortunately I have having some issues with it:
Heres my profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Rodvik-1969/hero/25088743

Looks like its going to blow away D3 and PoE and pretty much any current dungeon hunting game. Lol
They introduce the first class at around 4:30
