I read somewhere recently that Blazing Hydra really isn't bad compared to Mammoth... over time the damage seems to ramp up and exceed Mammoth on a champion/elite target.
Is this info incorrect? Besides the flat damage Mammoth does do we also have tests on its damage compared to blazing over a larger fight?
Seems like the only solution is to release a few more "signature spell-altering" legendaries... And maybe a buff to some signature spells. With what exists now I feel like spectral blades and electrocute may be close to having some kind of enjoyable build that can compete with the power and simplicity of mm/conflag.
Those gloves that are the ice equivalent to magefists that add a nice freeze chance to any cold damage would be really nice too. Hard to roll, rare drop though. Every one I've gotten has been shit.
I know it's a longshot but people seem really enthusiastic about testing things in these forums so I didn't see why it would be out of the question since it is highly testable.
it's clear that everything in the game with mf on it is a significant sacrifice in meaningful stats but at the rate i've seen things improve for my friend I'm thinking it is not just the scaling of the anniversary buff that has altered mf.
We all know it was nerfed to near-uselessness as cited by several devs. I was fine with this until not too long ago some guildmates, for shits, decided to put on some MF gear adding up to about 130% or so on his character sheet. Ever since then we've watched him (frequently) triple or quadruple the rest of the group's findings.
While it's true some great days do happen (for no reason I'll get 5 legendaries in one a1 bounty run on normal), while we chalked it up to luck on his part, as the days went on it seemed less like sheer lucky-streaks.
Anyway I thought it may be interesting to see if we can create some new numbers in a community effort. One group does 10 rifts with 0 mf, one does 10 with 100%, another with 200% (if anyone has that kind of gear still) and by old numbers this should result in 0, 10 and 20% increases in legendaries respectively according to the nerfs (right?).
Anyway, either the loot buff had an adverse affect on magic find and has gone unchecked or there was a stealth buff to existing magic find gear within the game. Or my friends and I are insane.
Anyone else able to weigh in on this? I don't lurk general too often so maybe I missed this when discussed already (I did a search and didn't find anything before making this thread).
TLDR: I think magic find is accidentally cool since the anniversary buff.
Tried to see how fast I could kill ghom with a build almost identical to this. All damage sources are just plain suboptimal - sure you can kill things with it but it's like blowing on something til it falls over.
Used Arcane Torrent/Archon build and downed Ghom in less than half the time it took to kill him with this build and several similar. (with appropriate itemization for all).
From my tests gettin damage through attack speed vs the same damage through other factors like crit/cdam - attack speed just drains your AP faster for the same damage.
Pick a slow weapon for channeled lasers like RoF and Disint. I have a feeling arcane torrent works differently so I'll have to test some more.
I was google searching decent Death Blossom builds what with loot 2.0 being so lovely. I think this deserves another look. Anyone else found any good Death Blossom combos? I've seen some use it with wave of force to control mobs a bit better. I just feel like that damage can get so huge and with the right synergy I think a great player can extract some ridiculous power from this.
Biggest pitfall with the build so far is that clone-ai is awfully stupid and will cast all their Blizzards on the same enemy.
It's not constant but it's really annoying when one fat, useless storm shows up in the middle of a huge mob pack.

Bumping because nothing has changed.
Pls help. Where could I put this so it has a chance at being viewed?

Just not quite yet
