Newsflash: You are paying for the game development and support, why should that be less because of the method of purchase? And as people with more IQ then the OP have mentioned, you can't start a undercut war with your retailers as thats where most sales still comes from.
You do realize diablo 3 costs 33 £/40 € at amazon uk right? so lowering the price about 15€ for the digital copy would still be more expensive than some of the retailers.
Let me explain. If you start playing it for money with sponsors and everything (excluding RMAH), you will get those pros and their fanboys crying, demanding and craving for pvp-based balance which is completely opposite of what the game should be balanced around. If you start wiggling between balance in pvp or pvm, that will be unending cycle of whine and frustration (see wow). I can't no way support it becoming an eSport.
Probably will end up using 2-handers early on and maybe later switching to dual wield as I get used to mechanics etc... It's very different from diablo 2 assassin thus having some learning curve. But it is likely that I will use whatever I get my hands on.

The build has fairly good damage output and crowd control. It also includes escape mechanism to get away from risky situations.
