Ok,
Played through normal/nightmare/hell and first act of inferno, then normal again, halfway into nightmare and hell twice (farming).
Now i am halfway through inferno and in all this time i have only found 1 green set item and 2 special golden? items. Now considering when i went through hell twice i was methodical in searching every square inch of ground and had my 5x nef bonus for most of it, i would have thought i would have found more set items at least.
As it is with the 5x bonus i get more magic and rare items, but 99% of them are crap or reasonable but not for a wizard, so it all gets sold for gold.
In the AH you see lots of set items for sale (and special items), but i'm starting to think everyone only finds 1 piece and you have to spend real $ to get a set, or even a 2nd piece?
Anyone else struggling to find this gear??
Quit your bitching. You can beat this game without the set items. I have played through inferno as a wizard, monk, and DH and haven't seen a single legendary/set item.
This video is actually very poorly put together. There are way more efficient ways to win a bid than what this guy is doing, not to mention he seems ignorant to how pricing works as far as the stat weighings on this item.
~He put the 2% chance to fear on hit as an affix. How effective is this really even in PvP? That item probably isn't worth much more than 30m.
~He refreshes the bid from going back and forth in the pages. This takes probably 5x as long as using the little bid menu that blizzard puts under the sell tab. If you scroll your mouse, it refreshes the time.
~Using a stopwatch 5-10 minutes ahead of time to make sure you're within a 5 second threshold is key. If you can get it perfectly on your stopwatch from when the bid will end, you can easily snipe someone worry-free in the last 3 seconds of the auction.
~The key to getting the item is putting the maximum amount you're willing to spend. You will earn the difference back from the next highest bidder if it isn't yourself. Example:
Current highest bid is 1.4m.
Joe schmoe bids 4m.
You bid 10m.
You will get the item AND 6m from the difference between what you were willing to pay and the next highest bidder was willing to pay.
SAVE YOURSELF 3 MINS AND DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO. USELESS.
On a side note, most of your other content is okay.
Recently playing with some friends, I think I noticed something quite disturbing. Do some abilities apparently ignore whatever resistances you have, or not?
For example, my resistances vary from 1100 to 1800 (yes, 1800), and yet, Fire Chains seems to melt me down at the same speed, no matter if I'm 1100 or 1800.
Speaking to a few friends, they say Molten, Desecration and FireChains all ignore resistances.
Is it true?
I'm wondering if anyone knows which spells act like this, or if there was any mention by Blizzard to fix it if so.
Nah they don't ignore resistances. As far as your issues, it's probably down to lack of health/armor/life on hit/effective use of CDs. What class are ya?
Wizard leveling up would be much harder than a monk. Monks have so much utility you'd have to be playing really ballsy to die. Wizard would be easier for inferno than a monk would if you were short on money, however a geared monk would have an easier time than a wizard. Up to you.
Yeah my health was pretty low. However, with mantra of evasion/serenity I only ran into problems a few times. I was rolling at easily 50% dodge, lots of resist and high armor. So instead of having a large healthpool, I just didn't take very much damage, and when I did it was negated by CD usage. Ideally I would've gone with a bit higher res & around 30k hp with some more LoH and could've very easily cleared the game. Oh well though.
Disemtombed hulk champs. Molten/jailer/waller/invuln minions. I was playing with a wizard buddy and got boxed into molten multiple times. Blew through serenity/mantra of evasion proc/ran out of spirit and it was all over.
are you trying to say it's impossible to progress past act 2 inferno without the auction house? real money or gold if that's what you're saying? are you trying to say you've collected 4.6m gold and still can't beat the game? i'm pretty lost too man.
on my level 60 monk. his name was hermit. I had literally just gotten one of the most amazing shields from 5 stack NV random trash mob. Anyway, I was having a pretty easy time in Act 1 Inferno 'til I got careless.
As the title says I've got a quiver with 169 Dex & a 46 dex gem & +10 Max Disc. Means that the quiver can go up to 227 dex with 15% IAS (The highest possible on a quiver). This quiver has the most dexterity you can possibly get with a socket & +10 Max Disc. Offers can be in gold or RM!

Edit: The gem is worth about 700k too so keep that in mind

I was chilling at 700 res (stacked physical 'cause I'm dumb), 20k hp and a little less than 7k dps.
Ask me anything!
