I chose skills, passives, and spell runes that would help me and my allies stay alive in Hell and Inferno.
Mantra of Evasion, Guardian's Path give me minimum 30% dodge and if I hit Evasion every 3 seconds I get another 15%, as long as I am duel-wielding. Fists of Thunder also increases my dodge chance by 16% for 2 seconds so I get about 61% dodge at best. I decided to go with heavy dodge because I'll inherently be in a lot of danger as I fight in melee exclusively.
My first passive means that any enemies I hit will deal reduced damage done to my allies and self for a few seconds, any damage taken I can heal by switching to the healing mantra. Damage taken is further reduced with Blinding Flash, cast on enemies in my immediate vicinity, giving them a huge chance to miss that will synergize well with dodge chance.
One With Everything means that I can focus my equipment on just one very high resist instead of all of them, giving me some extra room to focus on dodge %, life, armor, or damage done. I will likely focus on one resist, life, and critical chance to maximize the damage done by my two single-handed weapons, to compensate for the fact that I only have 3 attacks (two resource generating), as well as taking advantage of the +movement speed from critical hits on my second mouse skill.
I chose two spirit-generating attacks for my mouse skills so I can constantly be meting out okay damage and generating spirit for mantras while Seven-Sided Strike is on cooldown, as that'd be my huge damage dealer for the rare and elite monsters.
If I have trouble generating enough spirit I can switch my Seven-Sided Strike to do more damage, thus making its spirit cost better spent and I can't spend it as often, freeing up some spirit for Evasion or Healing.
From the Equipment Icon thread, I saw all of these:
But I don't remember seeing them mentioned anywhere... what makes them mighty and what's so special about being a mighty two-handed axe instead of just a regular 2H axe?
Izual: Tyreal was a fool to have trusted me! You see, it was I who told Diablo and his brothers about the soulstones, and how to corrupt them. It was I who helped the Prime Evils mastermind their own exile to your world. The plan we set in motion so long ago cannot be stopped by any mortal agency. Hell, itself, is poised to spill forth into your world like a tidal wave of blood and nightmares. You and all your kind... are doomed.
It was so sad to go up against this monstrous entity and have a fallen angel rise from the broken body only to taunt you with the inevitability of your downfall
