I do not have any of the "The top three" I use instead Starweaver, Simplicitiy's Strength and Gogok of Swiftness,
Gogok of Swiftness lets me use a 2 hander like 2 one hand weapons. Simplicitiy's Strength combined with Depth Diggers gives me 120% primary skill damage boost (hardly the worse gem of all) and Starweaver is a nice extra damage nuke especially on single targets.
This works well on my Fist of Fury Monk and has vastly improved the enjoyment of the game for me.
As mentioned, different gems for different builds (not just WD's)
I love it, mine is not up graded and I use it for normal play but in two days I went from 40 mill to 97 mill, gold has been a curse for me but now it makes the game fun even if I find no legs (which is the usual case) I hope they don't nerf it. How does gold wrap give you a lot of toughness?
You can not stock pile shards, once you get 500 you can not pick up any more (That has been my experience, some one correct me if I am wrong) until you spend some. I would gamble for Akkhan set pieces and while doing that see what else pops up leg wise that is an upgrade accordingly to your build theme.
I use Rhen'ho since the day I got it and love it, tried other weapons but always went back. There is more to it then the flat Phys dam, I like the crowd control and it hits all over the screen plus hits more then once. I used fire at first but went poison once I got a coati helm, when used with addling Toad and poison dogs the dot dam is very noticeable.
It raises your midgets with out no problem, just sit back and enjoy the show, hardly nothing gets near you.
Well what can I say!.......except what every one else has been saying about the leg buff week but 3 times more so. I actually enjoy the game again.....You hear that Blizzard!! I enjoy the game again!!!
I craft more and enchant more because of more mats, I struggled before with having Souls ( mostly 5-10 average) but now have about 50 and less frustration.
I mostly play evenings and the leg drop rate is nicely paced, it's not raining legs (Did 2 and a half rifts in T1 with out a drop) and most are crappy yellows in disguise but who cares. I know just around the corner or the next kill could be the epic item I have been searching for within a reasonable time frame instead of every 21/2 hours of a !@#$ leg and waiting for the timer to kick in again.
Diablo drop rates have always been bad (Since D2) making it a grind fest, it is now rewarding to play, time not wasted and more area's of character development to explore, not on one toon but multi toons.
What is your goal Blizzard?, to make the game where every one wants to play and have fun and enjoy every aspect of the game.......well guess what? whether by accident or design you did it!!!! and I would consider very hard on your next action concerning this Anniversary buff because the wrong decision could reverse every thing that the fan base is saying in these threads.
I for one am dreading Thursday as many are once this honey moon is over. Back to the grind and drudgery of long hours for 1 or 2 legs. It just shows how far off you guys were on the right drop rate % because it how you Devs think it must be and not what it should be.
In all my Diablo life, I have never seen so many here all agreeing on the one thing and the joy expressed in a posting on this site (every one used to always hate here), I ask you this.....have you? Fans are playing more, clans are getting together, new ones are joining in and I have never seen so many public games since ROS launch.
I play mostly on T1 with WD (I like easy slaughter) and want to move up to higher Torments with the same killing speed eventually but after the Buff ends I have not got 10 years of playing in me to do that. If this buff stayed I could also play all my Toons and get them to T4 or higher which would take a long time even with this buff.
Sorry for the wall of text but I don't post much and needed to have this said.
What's it to be?
Remove buff (mass fan base departure)
Nerf it (every one slightly disgruntled)
Implement it into the game permanently (every one very very happy)
15 odd years down the track and D3 server reliability is just as good as it was with D2 = sucky!! Game is getting great but man, the disconnects and sudden Battlenet shut downs and queing and lag spikes and general game disruptions is killing this game. Other top name on-line games don't have half this trouble, either fix the server problem or hire people who know how to.
Ok thanks, I will stick with Cascade then, the fire build I was using was wave of force/heat but swapped to Shock pulse /fire bolts with Arcane Orb/scorch which was a fun keep you on your toes build.
I have tried most of the Wiz skills and Liked the fire build, then I tried Archon Torrent build and really like it. I think it suits my play style the most but with the new change to Torrent, that it will become a bit less potent.and lack luster.
Wizard
Arcane Torrent
Skill Rune - Cascade
Fixing an issue where the secondary missiles are triggering off damaging sources that are not Arcane Torrent*
How much do you think this will change things for the build? As I said I like the skill but if it becomes like throwing spaghetti at the monsters.I will go back to a fire build.
Well I started this thread and thought I would up date my status since then.
I lowered my sound channel to 16 and that helped but I still come to a stand still a lot and the biggest problem is that Every game I get disconnected. I can not even make it thru one act, some times I barely get started.
Because of the disconnects it is not worth playing, I just hope something is done by time of ROS launch. But I am not holding my breath on that because the slack response from Blizzard on this issue and the many people having the same problem means nothing much is being done about it.
