I think people change their game habits over the years. What we may have enjoyed year ago, may not be the same today. May I suggest however one thing. If you "wasted 1000s hours" playing a game, then why play it? What we do with our time, should never be a waste, but a choice.
That said, it's always good reading the other side of the story on a game. Can't make one game happy for everyone. D3:2.0 has been a 180 from D3's launch.
I understand the hesitation on speed, but I think it's ok. The higher level paragon you go, the slower it is to gain levels. I think it's a pretty steep climb, and there's a lot of cool gear to get.
People are online, they are playing, trying out different classes different builds. Heck my friends list has been steadily growing since word of mouth on the street is D3 2.0 is fun. This is all good stuff.
RoS is around the corner, hopefully there is more down the road, and would be happy to throw money at the screen if this is the stuff we'll continue to see from this Dev team.
No, it's not a FU. They had to reset many of the achievements when they redid the difficulty levels. Many also went into FoS. Most of the ones being reset are "easy" kills of the chapter bosses.

Blizzard made a point in saying they didn't want you to "farm" certain areas. They also stated that about every 2 hours w/o MF and extra drop bonuses is standard per legendary.
This. Farming spots are more about XP, currently. There aren't really any farming spots for legs due to the "timer"of ~ 2hrs of actual gameplay.
I love it. Every change I've seen so far I either like or I understand why it was made. Unfortunately, farming story mode in vanilla areas is still boring but a lot of these features were designed around adventure mode, so it's forgiving. It's a shame that all these nice legendaries I've been finding are level 60 and will become obsolete soon, but again that's not something I hold against Blizzard.
Oh don't worry you might find some of those same legendaries at 61+. Soon....soonnnnnn
I think people will find that if they start new characters, or dabble with those that they haven't been, or try new builds; you might have more fun. I suspect that those that have been farming M10 won't find much to do. As it is, I'm having a ton of fun, and can't wait to get home to play.

Have fun with whatever games perk your interest.
Imps are RoS and higher than Marq. I think they drop Master and higher difficulty only.

wow, but then....what a way to allow people to start new toons and play catch up. Nice.

Elemental changes are just too fun not to play.
