I see this issue on just about everything I compare. The +/- error seems to happen once the char reaches a certain damage threshold. Green numbers used to show a '+' but now they always show a '-'.
I pick up all rares, usually leave all blues unless I'm starving for cash. I can usually bring in a decent chunk of change on the nights that I vendor everything
At about 6,000 elite kills or so, been farming Act 3 for weeks. I've never seen one jeweler plan drop. And I'm one of those people that picks up EVERYTHING if it's not white. I have seen a couple of blacksmith plans though. And maybe 6 legendaries since release, and one set item. None were worth using.
Been running MP3, I ran 4 and 5 once each but was not near efficient enough and was having some deaths. MP3 was fairly easy in Act 3. That said I'll probably switch to MP1 for a little while to farm keys.
Eh, You all probably did not miss too many recipes. Seems like they are more rare than legendaries .. lol
This is the truth. After farming ACT 3 every day for over a month I still haven't seen ONE jeweler plan. But hey, according to a lot of people this is 'working as intended'. But, oh yeah, that's why I stopped playing D3 last week and bought GW2. Much more rewarding game.
They could tighten stat ranges and increase legendary drops and we'd all have perfect sets of items within a week. And then from there where do we go? We'd all be bored because it now takes 500 hours to find a Natalya's with 12 more DEX than what we currently have. This is such a simple concept to grasp: The better loot you have, the harder it is to find better loot, and the longer and more grueling the grind becomes.
And with no other end game options available and no reason to re-roll, as it is right now, all Blizzard can do is hope people are okay with grinding for hours to get a marginal upgrade. Of course, people are quitting because they don't want to do this, yet at the same time, they'd quit if they were just handed all the loot they wanted, because there's not much else to do when your gear is godly. A few will PvP, but that's not everyone, obviously.
Read: The only thing people are asking for is maybe 1 legendary per week (shitty or not), instead of 1 legendary per month!!!!!!! Is that too hard to grasp? Blizz could seriously double the legendary/set drop rates and it would not change the game a bit. In well over 100 hrs played since patch I have see NONE. Bad RNG luck or not, the point is that there are a lot of people that has happened to and they're all leaving the game. I bought GW2 two nights ago and Diablo 3 is over for me already. Diablo 2 lasted me 10+ years and Diablo 3 just a couple months.
I got a spare crib in my garage I can loan to you so you have a place to QQ in. Just don't forget to install the toddler bar.

The people QQing about all the QQing obviously never played D2 and realized what a great game it was. Either that or a lot of people are just in denial about D3. Heck maybe it is my fault for hoping that D3 would be even half of what D2 was.
The loot system in D3 is broken, hands down. I'm the biggest Diablo fan there is, for God's sake I still have D2 on my PC and played it from time to time until D3 was released. I NEVER got tired of playing it. But, after now playing D3 every day since release, the bottom line is I am now bored as hell with no reason to want to keep playing. I have not received ONE legendary or set item drop since the 1.0.4 patch. Not one! Now, my RL buddy who also plays every day, gets at LEAST one Legendary pretty much every night. In the days since the 1.0.4 patch, he has outfitted his Barb with 4 legendaries which he has equipped and is now up to 90k damage. He has ALSO equipped his brother's Monk with 3 Legendaries and 1 Set Item in the same time period. During the same time period (and I'll say this again for good measure), I have NOT HAD ONE legendary or set item drop. I am still stuck at 45-50k damage.
The point of the matter is that with the loot system in D3 the way it is, people can only farm Act 3 so many times for weeks on end without getting ANY drops whatsoever to progress their character without getting bored of the game. If I knew that at least once per week I'd get an item that I'd say "ooooohhh" about, then no doubt I'd want to keep playing, but alas that's not what has happened. Now, I'm also not sure how my RL buddy can get a legendary drop pretty much every day, but I'm starting to honestly think that some characters have an inate ablility to generate more good drops than others. I'd hate to think how many thousands of drops I've seen over the last few weeks, but when I compare what I've looted to what my buddy has looted, I can't help but think "WTF?".
What exactly is wrong with Diablos' loot system? I don't see it.
My ONLY problem with D3's loot system is the fact that I keep getting tons of iLVL<56 drops in Inferno. IMO Blizz should remove the possibility for anything less than iLVL 56 or so to drop, even if that change is only made in A3 & A4. I mean if I am farming A3 & A4 why on earth would I be remotely happy with getting an iLVL 51 drop... That's the only thing that drives me absolutely crazy. As for drop rates themselves and the RNG, I am fine with how it works.
